I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row for when my motor shows up so I was wondering if there is anything special I need to delete the glow plugs and intake heater? I think I'm going with big twins but it's not written in stone yet. I have heard alot of boost can cause problems and I'm better just to do the delete. Looking for opinions as well.

for the intake heater, a cummins drain plug works perfect. not sure about the glow plugs though

Dave you just need the Intake Air Delete spacer.... MMLMM sells a bitchin one or you can take the heater out and cut all the interior crap out of it and replace it.

The glow plug delete is a new one to me.... high boost people blowing them out?

From the little I've found the guys running big boost delete the glow plugs. The less stuff on the motor the better I think.

IMO you would want something to fill the void of the glow plug or it's going to fill dith soot you could try using a simple metric plug but if you ever want to use the plugs again it might be a pain

not sure on the codes on a lmm but should be able to stop the codes just like the lb7

as far as the intake mmlmm piece would work great

You delete the glowplugs to rid the chance of a glowplug tip falling off and lunchboxing your 15k motor build.

DPR makes billet glowplug delete plugs.

Well then, SikDMAX will have an INEXPENSIVE set out soon :thumb:

Good to hear I would like a set. Its nice when you live in a warm climate and don't need no stinkin glowplugs :D

I think Johnboy made a set for his truck. I cant remember if he posted a pic on here or not.

If you do twins, just make a new intercooler tube without the flange for the heater. One pipe and no need for a delete piece

LB7 has round intake heater
LLY has no intake heater
LBZ/LMM have a intake heater grid

What kind of airflow gains are folks seeing by deleting the heating grid on the LBZ/LMMs? Is it just a remove-for-simplicity thing or are there actual performance gains?? It rarely drops below 50* here and I've been contemplating removing mine for a while.
