My IAT's went down after I installed my S&B when compared to my stocker both with the stock air filter and the K&N one. Other than that, I didn't notice any difference.
I think one with a scoop would be your best choice but I don't run one of those because I am always in the mud and snow. There's a pretty good chance I would just rip it off!!:D

Yep it's what I run. I like it..

Dammit I should have looked at yours the other day.
What does the "over 500 crowd" run mostly ??? I've had an Airraid, stock, stock modded with a K&n drop-in (currently)
My box is heavily gutted on the headlight and bottom sides. Honestly once I get the tuning right I should be at 530-550. I know S&B is heavily praised as the filtration king and is one hell of a price. I'm really looking for something with a scoop for some reason; just think it would help.
The banks piece is nice but whoa what a price w/ the scoop. Will I gain anything at 550 over what I have? I love the stock underhood look right now; and if I can get by with adding a Banks scoop to my stock box that would be great. But if I'm being held back by what I have I need to know what will work. Thanks.

I don't know if it helps. Some say yes, some say no.

I was looking at getting a scoop and modding it to work with the S&B.

My IAT didn't seem to change much but was lower. I did get more air through the mass air meter according to my logs with my s&b so it was working better than my ppe modded box on my lbz.

I have the Banks Ram Air on my truck easy to install. BUT the Banks not a ram air setup they have a square hole in the side by the fender and is open. They used to have a plate to slide in the hole, when the plate is installed it makes it ram air and they had a problem of sucking up water in the engine. So they don't offer the system with the plate. With out the scoop it pulls air from the bottom of the fender well, the scoop from under the bumper. If you have bigger tires the scoop will rub the tire. It does look nice under the hood and Cost alot
