unless you know something I don't, you can't use the standard kit with the drop shackles. The bags mount between the stops and the frame, when you lower the truck that becomes way too tight for the bags and will just damage them.

you could make a mount and put them on the inside of the frame after lowering the truck. :thumb:

I haven't put my bags back on because i'm lazy but i sure miss them carrying loads!!!

I'm lowered more, but i'm running a set of Airlift SlamAirs and they work great. Usually load lifter bags offer an additional 5k weight, but the setup i'm rocking is good for 4k additional, which is plenty enough for me.

Plus the ride quality is through the roof better since I'm not hitting my djm bumpstops every tiny bump.

Thanx for the info^^^^ On your 3/5 drop are the rear spring packs intact (any leafs removed)?

Well I have a 1 ton so I began with 5 leafs and an overload per side.

I started out by leaving only 3 leafs in the pack. I figured since the obs guys do it why not try it.. Lol it was a mistake. I was squarely on my bump stops and then some.

Then I went to adding just one back in each side, but even then was only maybe 1/4" above the stops.

So I finally allotted to throwing in the fifth leaf and now it sits 1" above the bump stops without my overload springs and with the kit in the lowest settings.

With the bags installed however I keep them between 20-30psi and sit about 1.5" above the stops and hardly ever hit them.

Here's a pic of my setup to give you an idea. Works like a charm. Definitely money well spent in my book.

Is this picture of the passenger side?

I am pretty sure that's the driver side judging from the handle on the b&w hitch

About how much can you "adjust" ride height with the air? And when you hook up a gooseneck can you air it enough it dosent sag the suspension at all?

I didn't notice that.

Just wondering since the pictures I've seen installed on other trucks had the bag mounted on the back side of the axle. Not sure if it makes any difference though.

You are correct, it is the drivers side.

The reasoning for them mounted in front of the axle is just do to the fitment of the brackets on the frame. (The b&w bracket was 100% in the way for mounting the bags to the rear)
I've seent them mounted both ways and in the instructions it mentions mounting them either way. I just opted to drill out one of the holes on the upper airbag mount and utilize one of the b&w nuts as one of the mounting locations.

As far as height, from 10# of air it sits as low as it did without the bags.
At my normal ride height I have around 20-30psi in each side and it gives me about 1-1.5" over.
The most i've put in them was around 80psi (that was for the initial leak/fitment testing and then twice for moving around a trailer I used to own) and it raised the rear around 3-4" I want to say. Didn't ever break down a tape measure and get exact numbers though. I'd be more than willing if you want me to take a look here in the next couple days though.
I haven't had a good oportunity to heavy haul with this setup yet, but it will tote around a 24ft GN horse trailer without affecting it. (thing was light though, like I said, not much of a test at all)

Yep, It was a kit designed for the GMT 900 silverados/sierras.
I used kit number 59209. (for whatever reason the picture isn't the same kit on their website, but when I ordered this was the cheapest place I could find them that still honored the rebate that was running)

http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kit...c=1&t_s=546&t_pt=101525&t_pl=99&t_pn=AIR59209

Oddly enough, Airlift didn't ever engineer a bag kit designed for a lowered 3500 srw long bed with a GN hitch. I didn't want to lose the availablilty of being able to pull GN's, so I had to modify the mounting brackets just slightly to get them to fit.

It wasn't plug and play in any way, shape, or form for my application, however the end result was more than worth it. As mentioned earlier, every small bump I would hit resulted in kidney jarring consequence. (and that's coming from someone used to rocking 10/12k coilovers on cars). Now this thing rides like a cadillac instead of a lumber wagon.

hopefully that shed a little bit of light? Anything else just ask.

Thais exactly what I am trying to accomplish, I want my cake and I want to eat it too. I pull a gooseneck sometimes and I want to be able to use my truck as a truck. Call me crazy but that's what I bought it for in the first place. Its also a hot-rod, a weekend puller and a daily driver, kinda of a Swiss army truck! I was just trying to get an idea of how much height difference the airbags would give, So you could "kneel" the truck under a trailer and then add air and raise it or put enough air in them to keep the truck from sagging under load that sort of thing. Obviously how heavy the trailer is and how its loaded has a lot to do with it but you have given good info on your experience and I appreciate it, thank you
