Air bags for 6" Deavers?

Hey guys!

So the misses and I are in the midst of deciding where we'll be going after her contract (US Navy) is up. We've settled on three choices where we'll be happy and while we decide we will be preparing. I will be towing a large enclosed trailer with my k5 blazer inside, but also lots of my tools and some furniture we've decide to keep (love my Cal king haha). I figure between my box, compressor, jacks, impacts, drills, saws, sanders, etc, I'll have quite a bit of weight behind my old LLY. She'll be getting a soft transfer case rebuild, custom built rear driveshaft, and air bags. The problem is, with my 6" Deavers out back, I am in no mood to replace bags after every camping trip (my buddy has the spacers and the Firestone 2250 kit on his 07 Classic, 6" Deavers, he's replaced the driver side 3 times and passenger side once). So I've been doing research and looking into a cost effective solution. I thought about going with the Cognito kit, but too much money. I thought about buy Carli bags separate, called for a price and was told that is something they don't usually do, wouldn't even give me a price. After some Googling I came across Fireatone bags 5429. The bags that come with the 2250 kit (stock height) have a ride height of 5.5"-6.5", so I began looking for a similar dimension bag but with 11.5-12.5" ride height. So far, the closest I have gotten is 5429, but they have a ride height of 12.5-14". Technically I'm within specs, just barely. I'm trying to find a bag that can be more like the 11.5-12.5" of ride height.

I'm curious if anyone has ever tackled this project before, and if so, if they could provide the part number of the bags they're using. A friend has an airbag kit (2250) from his Duramax. He ended up keeping it when he sold his truck (stock) but he ended up with a lifted Cummins that came with bags (no name brands we could see). So all I need are the bags. My goal is adequate suspension travel while maintaining superior load control for our future trips. We are torn between North Carolina and Minnesota (her home state), and I'm working on a visit to Idaho to visit friends and to see if she might like to consider that as an option as well.

If anyone has anything to contribute, please chime in!

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat as well. I have the 6" deaver rear springs too but it is on a 2" lowering shackle to adjust the rear height in case if I go with longer control arms which will increase some height and more suspension travel. If it were me, I'd get the 5429, just put low air pressure on it and it should be okay I would think. Suspension travel is a must too, so it shouldn't sacrifice the suspension travel.

I'm sure James will chime in, he's probably in the same situation as we are.
