Okay I may be an idiot but I cut the wiring harness. I've replace a ton of receivers and have always just cut the stock wiring harness and spliced in the new. This apparently isn't working, not to mention the colors are all over the place and everywhere on the Internet seems to have different ideas as to what each color wire mean.
Now I have spliced the new wiring harness in, tested the head unit and nothing. No power, no nothing.... Except the damn truck won't turn over--> the stupid security feature. (This thing has been a pain in my back side for months now)
So now I decide I should do some research, and I find a forum that tells a guy he is basically screwed if he cut the wiring harness and to get ready to spend a grand to fix it (I don't have a grand to spend on wires, that money must be spent on a tranny build!).
Also there were two stock wiring harnesses attached to the radio, one main larger the other smaller- is this the door chime? Could this be the security issue?
So no power to the unit, and if it's plugged in the truck won't start. Does anyone feel like saving my ass and telling me what I need to do?
