Just looking for some advice here. I'm looking to twin over my 72vgt.

I acquired a T6 BW billet S480 1.1AR 87mm turbine. Would this be a decent match for my 72vgt or should I sell and go bigger? Truck is a built motor truck with dual fuelers and 60 overs but lives at 7000+ elevation. Mostly a weekend warrior with some track time.

Thanks for any advice

I did a lot of research and ended up with a billet TCT S483 1.32ar 96mm T6. I think that 80 would work just fine. The smaller turbine might help spool quicker at altitude but the a/r being that tight would be my only concern.

The A/R is my concern too. I want that balance between fun to drive and power. This elevation sucks.

What about getting it all put together and trying it. Worst case scenario you can by a looser exhaust housing but you might be ok the way it is. I have no experience with altitude other than snowmobiling but it seems to wreak havoc on these trucks.

Thats probably what I'll end up doing. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't making a sizable mistake before doing it.

Hurry up and get your build done so I can live vicariously through your truck

You can always gate the big charger... I have 1.0 on my comp 82mm with a 38mm Tial gate. I have no issues with drive pressure or over boosting the big charger. The gate is locked off, pulling about 24 psi of 50 total @ 3000 pulse. Maybe when i get the engine built I will have issues but none so far. Im also at 400 feet above sea level. (also pretty positive I have a leaks in my innercooler)

I think for your altitude this would be pretty close to ideal. I would try it for sure.

You could always ho to a vband inlet with the 87 turbine and 1.3 a/r. That should help quite a but being single scroll with the v band. I was looking at something to go an my daily driver and was considering 75tct with that set up .

How would a S483 1.32AR 96mm Batmo spool at my elevation? Several are for sale right now and am awfully tempted to pick one up.
