I have always used this kind, the white ones. I order some new ones and these arrived. Are these some knock offs? The blue paint, "professional", the label upside down, and you can see directly through them is making me question them. Also look at the inlets. Here are some pictures. The first two are what I've previously bought.
Thanks

Definitely looks suspicious. Can you see any coalescing media inside them?

The new filter is starting to pop up all over and it is used by a few brands. I know Luber-Finer and Fram for sure that uses that style. Personally I would not use one and I would stick with Racor who made the original. What pisses me off if GM did change to this cheap filter they should have issued a new part #.

Here is another picture with a label on the box. I Googled it and this filter came up. It says genuine AC Delco filter. The label does say new item. Thanks for moving to the correct area.

Looks like the older style filter used back when the LB7s where having lots of injector issues, before the newer filter design came out. I wouldn't use it either. Like mentioned above, I would use the Racor

AC Delco professional line was the cheapest line of products they make, designed to compete with cheap parts store brand names.

And now it looks like they've changed the packaging lines to confuse us even more.

OE
Gold which was formerly professional line
Silver

GM has changed packaging on fuel filters and glow plugs recently. I believe it's cause of the Chinese knock offs on the market. Ebay and Amazon are flooded with them.
