My stock trans is hurt and shudders at wot in 4th, not every time but 1 out of 4. The weird thing is that every time it shudders the abs and brake light come on and stay on until the key is cycled. Anyone else ever seen this before? I thought all he abs sensors were on the hubs? Or could the shudder be something else besides the trans?

The ABS/Brake light comes on anytime you get heavy in the throttle now. Somebody has to know something, if I am not giving enough info please lead me in the right direction to get an answer.

No P07** codes have ever been thrown.

I'm not the most qualified person to answer this, but I'll give it a shot.

Your ABS system uses a speed sensor in the transfer case to determine rear wheel speed. I suppose that if your output shaft speed was jumping up and down enough, it might confuse the ABS enough to trip the light.

I'd get the trans fixed first, since you already know it is a problem, and see if it cures the ABS problem with it. If not, then at least you are only dealing with one issue.

So EFILive can't pull a code from the ABS module even when the ABS light is on?!?

No codes with the abs lights. I hope to have the tranz at relentless diesel in january so we will have that part solved!

I pulled the speed sensor on mine to fill the oil like was suggested. Since then I have been getting the ABS and PB light along with the service brake system. It does it once in a while. Friday going to orlando it didn't happen. On the way home it did it several times. That is the only thing I messed with so that may be the problem.

I just pulled the speed snsor and topped of the tcase with oil. No more lights, guess it was a bad connection developing.

Thanks for the help!!

Sorry I didn't post this up sooner, I was quick to think that the sensor in the t-case fixed my problem. It came back on 6 days later. What I did this time was pull my garmin gps from in front of my speedo and watch what my speedometer was doing. Here is the weird part, when the code throws the speedometer will either stop advancing or actually move backwards before jumping up to the correct speed. This is while at pretty hard throttle.

Any slack in the transfer case rear output? If you push up and down on the yoke on the rear drive shaft, does it wiggle up and down any? Maybe your sensor is going bad?

no slack at all on the yoke. I did notice a drop of oil starting to form on the dust cover of the rear main tcase seal but not even enough to leave a spot on the driveway after sitting over night. any process of elimination ideas before I buy a sensor?
