Is the V2 available yet, and how large are the programs files for efi alive?
Don't like putting to many programs on my laptop, it is used mainly for work only. How long are the cords, home office is right next to garage?

V2 not available yet, but before the end of the year.

If you have wireless, you can store the files on your desktop then just use the laptop in the garage if you're in-range. I've done this before.

Cables aren't that long but you could maybe get a really long USB cable from any store to make it reach. The one cable that connects to the computer is just standard USB cable, nothing fancy.

Craig, According to Paul and Ross V-2 will be out this month. (Before the big SEMA show early next month for sure!)

As for USB cables, I have always been told not to go longer then about 25' with them. And the size of the EFILive files are about 400-600 Kb, depending on the engine you have. The LB7 files are about 400 Kb, and I think the LLY files are about 600 Kb. (So you can store approx 2,000 tunes on one 1 gig photo card (Or a 1 gig pen drive!)

80 Gig isn't big enough! Figuring that the operating system, and vertual memory, and a few programs, that will only leave you enough room for maybe 100,000 tunes:angel:
