Here is a few pics after seasons of racing

You can see that it melted the coating on 2 pistons

So the piston is ok it was the coating that was eaten through? For a few seasons I'd say that is pretty darn good!

Looks like the edge of carbon build up.

Hit the pistons with some contact cleaner and a little scotch brite, i bet the coating appears...

Ya I'm pretty happy! New coating , slap on the girdle, some new rings and cam and I should be good for a few more passes

Pics are decieving you can feel the piston and the coating
It's very smooth unlike the other 6 pistons

I suspect the rings are bad, I have new ones to install

The new rings in clips where just over 200 bucks and are file fit

I'm taking it to the machine shop tomorrow so I'll have more specs on the rings then. I just figure it's easier to pack it around with the slugs left in there

I'll then see what the skirts look like but the walls look great IMO

I ordered mine direct from Arias.... They don't sell them direct anymore though

Not as many this year but last year I probably had over 100 passes this year maybe only 50

And maybe 500 miles on the street last year this year maybe 30

what is the difference between the rings used on mahle and arias pistons? i wonder if you can order an arias piston cut for the mahle ring sizes? to go for the longevity?
