Ok, so I just recently located to SoCal and I am now working as a Diesel Mechanic at a heavy equipment yard/mine in Lakeside. We have tons of spare turbos just lying around and I have convinced my boss to sell me one cheap. Cheap being like $100.00
I have at my disposal several units from Old Detroits, a few Semi units, and a almost new unit that was pulled from my boss' truck when it was new which is a Garett unit from 99 7.3 Powerstroke.
I know serial numbers would be great here but I didnt have time to grab them today.
Here is what I want to acomplish down the road. I have asked about doing twins before and I believ thats the route I want to take. I will still be towing with my set-up so thats my only limit really. I believe the Garett looks to be the best option at the moment and run it in series after the stocker but I really dont have a clue on this yet as I have no specs on it.
Any ideas of what I could do and what I should be looking for on the oher turbos?
Thanks!

Ok... So from what Ive been researching it looks as if the 7.3 Turbo would work well for what I am trying to acomplish. I believe what I would need to do is run my stocker in line first and have it feed the larger Garrett from the 7.3 as it will be slower to spool especially since I am not flowing quite as much exhaust at off-idle low RPM's.
Any thoughts?

The 7.3 turbo is way to small to run as the atmospheric turbo in a twin setup

Right on... Thank you for the advice! Im great with the tuning, great with building good useable power but new to trying to understand just what gives a turbo its personality and how to use it to my advantage. I will learn though! LOL!

So readymix huh, yeah... we are definately neighbors LOL!
We are still working with getting those CAT motors running right. I wasnt there for the installs and wish I was but the one thats finished keeps running hot. They have had CAT out several times but now their computers wont talk with our CAT computer. Weird!
So do you know Jimmy? I believe he is mainly the guy that did the conversions besides obviously Blake. Another guy that would have been involved is Jeff.

So I am starting to think that none of these turbos would work well then because of the Atmospheric Ratio..... I imagine that the larger turbos would be even worse due to the size of the exaust wheels and how much pressure would be required just to turn them.... Darn, thought I was finally going to get started on my twin set-up and for cheap!
