A/C Not Working

It is now hot enough to require A/C, turned it on and the dash indicates everything right, but when I pop the hood the clutch isn't engaging. Is there a troubleshooting procedure for this?

Sorry forgot to mention this for my 04.5 lly.

It probably has a leak, there is a low charge cut-off switch. Charge it.

It worked fine until I changed the engine out in Jan. Would the low pressure switch set a code in the ecm?

Ok went and pulled the codes, B0414 and B0229. The B0414 has always been there for the last 3 years, but the B0229 is new.

Check the wire connections on the compressor, and the High side switch on top of condenser, If you are good with the Freon

Do they set a code when to low or high? Obviously depending on the switch. So high switch is on the condenser and the low is by the pump ? correct?
