I guess it's fast. Did it make it to the end of the track? :D

At about half way I lost sight of it.

First rule of Video: Make sure there is something on the screen.

From what I could see, apparently they left it parked in a bad neighborhood the night before, it's missing a lot of pieces.

So maybe you drag raging guys can clue me in to something. IIRC one wants to build boost and heat before launching. Is he building boost and heat in stage 1 and once he gets enough he moves on to stage 2 or is he trying to build as much boost and heat before he starts staging? Just trying to understand why it seems it takes so long before he goes down the track.

He is just building heat. Those are both VERY large turbos and they take alot to lite.

Search "Casper Creep" on here and it will shed some light on it.

I think the Cummins guys are already datalogging in a very sophisticated manner:

"Heck Bubba, they ain't much smoke, I still sees the sun!"

"You right Jimbo, needs some of them .090" x 6 sticks prolly."

No the Smith truck didn't break just couldn't back it up within 1%. It made another 2 or 3 runs trying to back it up but track conditions got worse and worse. cold and slick.

Not sure if it would be wise to post my editorials on CompD; I'm already less popular than Obama over there. :D

At least the CSI truck could stage in an orderly fashion, but I got to say that while moderate smoke is not a problem, huge amounts aren't going to be allowed indefinitely at sanctioned drag events. If there was no wind, or if it were blowing the other way, it raises the question of safety and track operations. That is enough smoke to blind the other lane, blind mid track lights for the next pass, hide the scoreboards, hide whether the car has left the track, oil the track, and delay the next pass.

There are already tracks that do not like diesels running at them. It will just take one accident caused by poor visibility to get national restrictions on diesel racing. I personally do not mind smoke, and even enjoy it at sled-pulls. But what diesel racers think has little if any bearing on what track owners or insurers think. It is always best to be pro-active rather than trying to get a ban lifted.

This is an extremely unpopular opinion, but I think more and more diesel racers are starting to get nervous about the situation. We either police ourselves, or fight against a ban. And as we know, most the time "bans" are for life.

That is funny chit, needed that in my little smoke discussion on CompD. Love it!!:D

On second thought, if you feel lucky, you can quote my opinion on CompD. I doubt many of those who feel the same way over there are comfortable with posting something like that, so perhaps it might make some of them realize that they are not alone in that thinking.
