Thought I would start my own thread because we were kind of cluttering the top 500 fastest dmax list. LOL

Never had I thought I could break an 8.50 in the 1/4 mile let alone come close to a 7 sec pass. I know I'm still a long ways away from a 7, but with help from some great sponsors it might be possible!!

We started the year off with all new everything. Wagler Competition built me a compete long block with all forged internals and their HIP heads. Exergy Performance supplied me with all new injectors and cp3 pumps. Bullseye Power supplied me with three new turbo's speced out by Danville Performance. HSP Diesel took the truck in and made a new triple turbo kit, front cover and intercooler. Vibrant Performance supplied all new VanJan clamps, AN line and fittings. AirDog supplied two new 4G200 pumps.

Over the winter Danville Performance put the new setup on their engine dyno and we learned a lot from the new setup. Once Mark had the tuning all dialed in I installed it into the truck. The first three times I had the truck out I broke something. It was a big learning curve with all this extra HP. Between me fixing the truck and my family I didn't get out much this year.

I've been working my ass off chasing wiring problems with the truck. I finally think I have it all figured out and now we're starting to make some good passes. I went to SDX and took 3rd place with a 5.9 in the 1/8th. fighting electrical problems.

Last week I took the truck out to a 1/4 mile track and made some passes with all the electrical problems fixed. On the lowest hp tune the truck went 8.9. Mark Broviak started adding fuel to it and we ended up running a 8.49 @ 164mph. Looking at the video of my tires on the hit they were getting all balled up and taking a beating. We decided to call it quits for the night and order some new tires. I went out yesterday and didn't change anything from last week except for the tires and pressure in them. The truck went 8.39 @ 168mph and pulled my best 60ft ever with a 1.32.

All this would not be possible without the help from my family and my sponsors!! Thanks again to all who have helped me out. Next time I have the truck out will probable be Oct. 29th at my local track. They have a Diesel day there and they always have great track prep and the air is nice and cold!

Sorry for the long post guys! I will be adding some video soon.

Congrats buddy, it's been a long time coming! All the blood sweat and tears are finally paying off and we are only half way there! There is still plenty of power left on tap and we hopefully will see that 7.999 pass yet this season with it on fuel only! Glad to be here for you every step of the way for you as always!:thumb:

So awesome!

So I guess over the winter you'll have to be updating that chassis to meet the new spec? :D and/or start petitioning them to lower the acceptable ET for it. ;)

Congrats to you and your team Brett:thumb: It's not a one man show as some would have you think.

Just curious, how many runs are you getting out of your tires? I would think that a heavy truck (compared to some cars) would be really tough on side walls.

There is no way in Hell i'm cutting apart my truck to install a 25.6 cage. I will just run with what I have. My kids are getting older now and getting into sports so I'm not sure how many races I will make it too in the future.

We are legally allowed to go 5.30 in the 1/8. My 8.39 run had a 1/8 time of 5.47 so I still have some room to go quicker.

MT says 75 with the weight of our truck. Some of the other guys in my class that go fast say 40. I had over 150 hits on my tires. LOL. I got them just before World finals in 2014.

Congrats!!
Best part-your now faster than the self proclaimed assface of diesel motorsports in a truck twice the weight of a rail with less smoke!

Going that fast in itself is one helluvan achievement. Everyone involved should be proud and pleased!

Yeah, he should really find a better tuner. Maybe Mark will help him out. Lol
