At your girlfriends house
01-02 had CPS problems. Might want to pull up service records to see if that was ever replaced. If its shutting off sporadically and hard to start is also an indication of that BUT is also conditions of fuel pump probs. Personally Id check fuel pressure. Pumps are known to go. I just replaced mine with 116K miles and Ive replaced them with only 60K on. DO NOT get cheap ass pump. Get a Delphi. Car quest was cheapest around here.

496 BB is right about the pumps hence I suggested fuel psi first :thumb: Flippin GM pumps love to die from anywhere from 40-150K miles :spit: If you see a GM no start being towed into the shop you work at. Bring a assistant and a rubber mallet for the tank!

And as suggested Delphi pump only.

55-62psi key on engine off.
We had one snap off the very top of 1 exhaust valve that did this. Ended up replacing all the exhaust valves on the drivers side, pass side is still perfect? Sarted out ticking, then popping finally pulled off dr side vc and saw first exhaust valve rocker sitting on the spring. didnt loose the keeper just the top of the valve was missing. also the rocker arm pedastal studs will back out and cause this problem.

yes, thats why it blinks, possible cat damage. fuel pressure is within range also. Do you have acess to a portable scanner, if so you can track miss fires under mode 6 or some just have a universal missfire counter and prove which cylinder it is. Then we may be able to further help.
