The one I had in mind was sold a couple weeks ago, last fall there was a ton of 159" wheelbase trucks on Cincinnati craigslist. I hope they didn't end up as scrap. They were mostly old telephone company trucks. There was a 180" up the street from me at a brick company but they just sold it to a local roofer.

How do you balance your 19.5 tires?

Is the issue with the electronic logs the cost of the system or the fact that it is harder to get away with things?

What are you going to do with the current truck once this is done? Anything coming off that and going on the new one?

Looking forward to the build. I love the older body style!

Awesome, I wrestled some new tires on my front rims the other day and couldn't make up my mind on balancing them.

The front would through both stick and pinch on weights then the unbalanced ntire would scallop..
Just one less thing to worry about...

Elongs just like everything has pro/cons. One thing I never liked if it fails you're done until either you generate paper backup or get it working again...

The LMM plan is go DD/backup probably put the bed back on pull the oil cooler and couple other stuff that are more dedicated hotshot stuff..

I have... Those 3100 series cats worry me. There's more hit/miss major failure stuff on them then a Dmax.. Huei not alot of HP, and the 545 Allison aren't that great...

Could repower with LBZ/Allison tho...

It's currently out of my price range plus be ~$1000 just to go get it. And 3-4 days

The first 97 looks like a good deal it's missing the front flares but it has aftermarket mirrors and I don't see holes in the doors
It been on there and reposted couple times.
The flares and running/turn signal light aren't installed/missing.. Use same are the regular pickup trucks..
I agree with holes in the body... But man can you see around stuff with those big California style mirrors!

I know the Cat is the weak point. Just thinking the body and frame, plus something like the 7.8L Isuzu that they put in the 6500's and up. I saw several of those when looking around last night. I think i even saw one for about $3,500.

Originally saw this one, and its in Indiana. http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/trucks/for-sale/7180031/1994-gmc-topkick-lo-pro
I see what you're saying..
There's a guy with a 7.8 Isuzu in a Kodiak, on another forum I float, he gives the impression due to the small numbers there's little to no aftermarket support for them
. if i d repower with a MD engine. Most likely be a ISC/M 8.3/9l variant Cummins
I would get that last one you posted.. white 97 454 manual 180" wheel base would look nice loaded down.
I like it too... Definitely like the wheel base and CA length. I'd take all of them...

The flares are different from the non HD everything else fits. For your use the California mirrors are the way to go obviously.
