I just picked up a clean 74 k10. Normal half ton goods on it with a 6" lift and 37's. Going to build it into a good off road machine and not be a trailer queen getting to the off road area. It's definitely going to be reliable.

My plans;
12v for simplicity
NV4500
NP205/203 twin sticked, if the 203 won't work I'll find something else
HP kingpin 60 with floating rotors, air locker, hydro assist, cross over steering
14 bolt and disc brake conversion, air locker, anti wrap system that allows flexing
Box the frame for strength
56" leafs in the front with diy4x b52's
63" leafs in the rear diy's shackle flip
41's with recentered h1's
Either 4.88s or 5.13s gears maybe lower...
Fox 2.5" piggy back shocks
Air compressor for lockers and to air up tires or anything else
Tube bumpers, rock sliders

That's it for now.... Currently searching for the axles, tcases and leaves to mark those off the list.

Your truck is giving me motivation. Trying to decide if I should continue to go with a 12v or just do an lq4 swap. I definitely want a diesel in this truck but a 12v weighs so damn much.... Even thinking about an lbz but want to keep cost down.

Well if your trying to go on the cheap, a junkyard 5.3 can be had for half the cost of a 6.0 because everyone thinks they have to have a 6.0

True. I'm like the fat kid on willy wonka who wants to eat everything or has to have everything. I have to have a 6 liter for low end torque and power....

Little update with this. Picked up 79 hp dana 60 to start the 1 tons process.

Probably going to check out an LQ4 with 243 heads, mild comp cam, 42lb injectors, aftermarket 90mm tbody, ss trailblazer intake.

Have been looking for a decent 14 bolt ff. And a driver side drop np205.
