700r4 Build Recommendations

My uncle is dropping a 383 stroker into his impala and wants to run a 700R4. With that, the engine should make ~400hp at the crank. I am looking for recommendations as to what parts to use inside this thing to make it hold. Ideally, I'd like to get him a little room to grow and I also don't like building the transmission to be just at the ragged edge of what the engine can make.

plug the feed hole in case for 4th acc with a check ball
.072" 2nd feed, .0125" 3rd feed with a .093" band release, and .093" third.
constant pressure mod in valve body so youll only use the tv cable to adjust shift points
make sure the governor bore is immaculate or it will hang and ruin your day

1) Beast Sunshell (Amazon FTW)
2) TransGo Shift kit: SK 700-JR
3) Corvette Servo: TransGo 7-2P
4) Constant Pressure kit (comes with self tapper for 4th accumulator): TCI 376021 (early) or TCI 376020 (late)
5) 4L65E rebuild kit: ATP CMS-24 with a Sonnax Kevlar band (7700-01K)



I do have two outstanding questions:

1) What would you recommend for a converter?
2) Would it be better to run the electronic lockup like a TCI 376600 or is it better to go hydraulic like a TransGo 700-LU?

Remember the 700 has a vane pump like a tail gate motor. Without billet pump rings, high pressure will blow an expensive pump and put you on a flat bed with a high dollar repair.

I’ve never worked on one so thanks for the heads up. I believe transgo makes some pump rings. I’ll do some digging into it.

Get the trans go separator plate. 700-P These are thicker than the OE Plate and can take the abuse.

The ring kit 700-PKH for above 5400 RPM or the 700-PK Under 5400 RPM

I would also recommend the 7-CS

You might also want to look into the full shift kit instead of the Jr. If your going inside the trans. It includes a few extra parts as well as the 7-CS kit Trans go Shift kit part number is 700-2&3

The beast Works, There is another one out that is called the monster shell I hear its the same but Less expensive. Never used one. Not sure who Your purchasing through. Just wanted you to be aware.
