If it's a 7.3 he'd have to have spent thousands to beat you. A 6.0 maybe not su much but I've never run into a real fast one but only seen one with the bottle and it was making like 650-700hp.

Adam,
where is this air strip at? Is it in Ebensburg, or out by Pittsburgh?
Or is this some totally bootleg deal he is trying to "sneak onto"?
If you remember Jeromy (05LLY2500HD) from DP, when he was working outside of Pittsburgh, he went to one of those races at the air strip and did pretty well. They hold them a few times in the summer. For some reason, I was thinking they had one up near Ebensburg (about 40 minutes from Blairsville) but I could totally be mistaken.
On a side note, I'll probably NOT be back that way this weekend (or for the next month) so I'll have to catch up with you some other time.

Here's what you do. Ask Stingpuller if you can borrow his truck for a day. Using a mild tune, romp on the Ford. Make sure to bet him first, then do double or nothing....

J/K. Adam, If you're still running a high 13, and its a 6.0 truck, it would be a close race. If its a 7.3, he'd have to have spent huge money to go even that fast. Heck, just go have some fun.....

If its rolln on 35 with a lift,it's going to be tough to be to fast! Do's it have lighted mirrors? Almost 6.0 have lighted mirrors,I now they can be changed. Headlights are the other give away. Clear one piece are 05 and newer thats a 6.0. We had a couple of them around here the fasted one was only in the mid 13s and was on spray!

the clear reflector housing headlights started in 2002, so it is possible for a 7.3 to have the "new" headlights.

The 2001 and older had the "not clear" refractor housing headlights.

2005+ 6.0's had the more squared off grille and different still headlights.

Just look at the badge on the door. 7.3's had a black/silver powerstroke badge. 6.0's had a red and silver badge.

Also, you can tell by the sound (I can pretty easilly, stock or modded). 7.3's are more rumbly and almost smoother and more mellow sounding. 6.0's seem to have a more cackly idle, as if you took the tone-control on a stereo and cranked it way up...I guess thats the best way to describe it?? At WOT, it is night and day difference sound between the two, but most of the time I can hear a powerstroke drive by and tell right away whether its a 6.0 or 7.3

My buddies 7.3l with injectors, little bigger turbo(van), and built tranny laid down 465 rwhp and a small shot went 515 rwhp. Only been to the track once and let his brother drive and it ran 8.90 on #2 and weighes just at 8000#'s. Fords seem to peter out on the big end as it's hard for them to break 100mph on # 2 it seems. A very good tuned 6.0 will run mid 13's.

Whoop his butt and steal his girl Adam :D:rofl:

You could always bottle-up if ya feel the need but need to know more on what his is and mods to it. A 7.3 will need some good injects and a hot tune, a 6.0 might be a diff story, if it has some SCT or TS tuning, he might keep up well.

My buddies 99' 7.3L has S&B, 5"MBRP and a T&S switch chip and it runs pretty dang good, close to 13.90's SOTP but starts runnin out of fuel on the big end.

If it is a 7.3 with :hehe:gas, then it has got to be built. Cause rods in a 2000 7.3 or newer are junk and may not hold up to the gas and a hot tune. A 6.0 with injectors and a good tune with gas may run good, but I don't think you should have a problem with him. Just remember to rub his nose in it a little when you are beating him. Maybe a accidental indicator signal and lane change when you are 5 lenghts or so out in front.:joker:. Just don't make it to obvious other wise you won't get him to bet his girl friend and her sarority sisters washing your truck in bikinis when you beat him.

There's a guy that races up here in the PNW that has a 7.3L with 15K under his hood and is crazy happy when he can get into the 15's. I just laugh........with my hot blonde wife in the passenger seat......
