Well I bit the bullet and bought the 7.1L stroker crank and forged 0.040" over pistons from at Guy at Socal Diesel. I already had the rest of the parts that come with the kit. My main intentions for the motor will be for sled pulling. I had already planned on doing a motor build but i figured might as well and go ahead build the bottom end as strong as i can. I'm glad I decided to rebuild the motor because I found the camshaft dowel pin had sheared off and wedge in the keyway of the gear enough to make it look like it was bent when i first saw it. I get pics of that next time at the shop. I will keep ya'll posted on the progress of the build.

The parts sale you had makes sense now.

Good Luck with the build, Wade. Sounds like a great project.

I'm planning on using the Gt4202r I bought from Ed Wayne. Just wish this weather here would clear up so I can go pick it up. Yea I'm just trying to get rid of parts that I know I will not need just to make room really. I was planning on using the 4094 I already had but I got a chance to get rid of it

Kyle I told you when I was over there you should get on a trip out here, so you can see how we do it on the east coast. I'm planning on doing alot more traveling this year with the truck as long as the pulls are not on the same date as our points pulls, hopefully the DA crew will be able to come pull with us some this year too.

I was wondering what rpm I should run this motor at and I know anything above 4500 rpm the valve train will self destruct. What options are out there to beef up the valve train.
