Hi Mike,
we are planning to stuff an 07 Escalade drivetrain (L92 /w 6L80E) into a 99 Silverado (my old truck).
Problem is, the Esclade is AWD and we need to convert it to 2WD. Do you foresee any problems?
What parts do I need?

Thanks,
Lennart

Hi Lennart.
I have not had any experience with the 6L80 yet. I will look into this and post later.

Lennart just find a 2wd tailshaft housing (from a 2wd 2009+ tahoe/suburban/yukon) or from a 2007+ 2wd escalade.

Run a 2wd escalade OS and you should be good to go.

Don't know if the 6L's are like their older brothers, but some of those transmissions needed to have the output shaft swapped when going from 4WD to 2WD or vise versa. That's probably going to be the biggest pain if it's needed.

I have read either way on the output shaft.
Also I read that I need to install a VSS sensor in the tranny to substitute the one in the transfer case.
