My best was a 1.70 flat on 285/50 nitto 420's. Launching at 15psi. Just ran my lly for the first time and it was a 1.78/1.80/1.90 :( them were with Toyo ST's. 28r/33f. I was also launching it at close to 20psi blowing through 1st gear probably losing time for sure.

IMHO, 1.8+ slow
1.7x is decent for a street truck
1.6x is good
1.5x is awesome.

My personal best is 1.63. On falken street tires. I know she's got 1.5's in her on radials or cheaters but i think she just MIGHT have 1.5's in her on these tires... I need to get to a track where I can drive around the water...

Also I'm still a stock turbo truck... more power will yeild better 60' times

Idaho Rob and the rest of us gave up on strapping the front end a long time ago. Better to let the truck do it's thing and just slow it down a little. Adjustable shocks help a lot. 1.7 on street tires is a good 60'. But if it's working for you don't mess with it. Once you get the HP up you will do way with them for sure. If you are spinning your tires on the launch try lowering your tire pressure some more.:thumb:

Too low is a problem too though on radials, remember if its way low all the force will be on the shoulders and what you really want is a balance between the center and shoulders of the tire.

After you make you run pull over and feel them..if the edges are sticker then the center you need more air... and vise versa for the center

I got a ton of runs in one night last fall, so I tryed playing with air pressures
went from a high 40psi in the front, 35 in the back down to 20psi front, 15 in the back(too low) dropped 2 psi every other run
then tried them even pressure front to back, 10psi more in the front
didn't matter what the pressure was 60fts were 1.76-1.82 all night

Stock everything including converter, and transmission with a transgo jr. Regular ole shocks from Napa, spring clamps, lowered tbars, 30lbs air in front tires, 26lbs. rear.

265/75/16 Mastercraft CTs that absolutely suck for traction. Nothing fancy! :)

I think you're doing pretty good for running those slippery bastards. You don't need DRs. A set of sticky street tires will get you much better launches.

if that theory is right - on every tenth you drop on your 60ft gains 2 tenths at the top end , that night I ran the 1.76-1.82 60fts I was running consistent 12.30-12.35s

I haven't played a lot with proxes but I have been in the 1.65-1.75 range usually with 285/50/20. Pressure drop didn't really seem to help a lot. My drag radials on the other hand, make a big difference in pressure. 1.5x's on radials pretty consistently

shock choice and setup has a lot to do with if strapping will make a difference. strapping the front end is a "crutch" to a bad shock setup for drag racing. having an adjustable shock such as the QA1 shocks where you can drasticlly slow rebound is highly benifical.

If your like me and run a lift, a shock designed for off roading, and big hp, the front will raise too quick causing a good amount of tire toe-in and well as a bad hop affect on top of bad toe-in when the UCA hits its bumpstop abruptly.

Put a strap on that is almost completely tight when you lower the front end (specially a strap like mine that has some give in it) and its can make up for bad shocks to a point. Had i not put them on, my front would lift to the moon, hop bad and toe in horribly. my straps have some give to them so its not like im launching without any front suspension, you need some give in both tires and suspension to help keep traction upon launch otherwise you will spin easier. thats why a drag race shock is the best route to go.

i only cut a 1.9 but my tires were at 50psi all around and only have 1/4 tread left. they suck for the track as is. new tires and lower air pressure and ill bet i can get a 1.8 or maybe, just maybe a 1.79 :D

Just like Chevy1925 has said, the straps are a crutch for a set up that isn't. Absolutely everything except the tie rod sleeves is OEM. Shocks are OEM replacement.

The 60'- 1/8 - 1/4 tomes are not copacetic with each IMO because the transmission and the poor tuning that I've come to realize I have from Husker Diesel.

The tuning is getting changed shortly, and the trans is getting built as well.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not at all making excuses. I'm asking so I will know what more to go about doing from a base.

No it's not that I dont buy it I just wish I could get that. I also run 420's in the same size n I've only once hit a 1.79. All the others are 1.8xx
