I use the hot+2 on my 03 I want to get around 500+ hp with the stock rods studs and turbo. I see a lot of you run EFI live, does anyone run TTS tuning. Can I get this with tuning alone. What should I do.

Yes but don't expect your stock rods to hold that long plus the high egt's will most likely take out your pistons. The efi & ppe should get you there
you should definetly worry about the egt's more than anything else

wouldnt the turbo give away before the pistons could ever get hot enough. I thought the stock rods were good up to about 575 before they would bend, or break. I am just not sold on EFI live tune yet Shane I have yet to see it in action. You have a built motor, I need to see it on a truck in my class. I'm unsure what I would realy gain with it and I worry about my crank also. I got to go clean up my truck check back later.

I would think any of those three you mentioned can get you the 500+rwhp your after as long as you have the other supporting mods to go along with.

My brother will probably be getting him a Suncoast soon and some tie rod sleeves. When he does then you can see how it compares to your PPE. I would be worried just as much about your crank with the PPE on it as the tuning that I have been doing. No one has the answer about crank breakages. Look at Buck's truck. It uses a stock crank the last I heard. There are many other high hp trucks out there using EFI live and stock cranks.

Efi live is the way to go

x3, I understand your worries, but you will make the power, you have the ability to make unlimited amounts of tunes for your truck, and you can do just about anything you want in those tunes. The ppe is great tuner no doubt, but your limited to the levels they give you and nothing else. Not that great for customization.

Eta: If you beat your truck daily and race ect, no ones tuning will last long on stock internals. Its just a matter of time.

x4...no idea how much rwhp I have but my truck at almost 7300lbs went 12.73 in the 1/4 so I'd say somewhere around 550 and I still get 22-24mpg on the freeway..thanks EFILive :D

ran PPE for a long time and thought the same as you till i broke down and bought EFI Live. its definitly the way to go. You can fine tune a tune for your truck and get every last little bit out of it if you want. PPE you cant really do that.

The other thing is the diag efi can give you. you can run scans as you race hard and find where your weak point are in the tune or in the fueling departments to know what you need to upgrade to get max power.

I had my PPE and on my CP3 that can only hold a 2800pw, i hit 442hp with a hp curve that peaked really quick and dropped fast. Put efi live on and hit the dyno and hit 465hp that peaked and stayed up there till i hit the rev limiter. Its just the way to go if you ever plan on puttin a different turbo on, buildin the motor, LBZ CP3 (im doin this next to get over that 500hp hump), and so on.

My best at the track with my PPE was a 14.02. My old tune w/ EFI was 13.9 but had way to much pw for my truck keep rail pressure. My dynoed tune at 465hp should put me in the 13.8-.7 on a 8000 lbs truck on 37s :D

EFI live is KING!
My 05 on 37's ran 14's @ 6000' stock eng CP3 and turbo, and my Blazer runs 12's on 37's @ 6000' stock internals, built trans and twin turbos. Both with Efi Live tunes.

He's not running a LBZ. He has the good pistons, you know the ones you guys use when you build your motors...

As far as I know none of the pistons like high egt's. The way I see it it's just a Russian roullet game.

On a side note I don't know why the heck I haven't switched to efi live yet
I did run 13.4@99mph with the ppe on the 300 tune with a 100mph headwind so the box tuner ain't to shabby IMHO

Im running TTS right now and ran PPE before. havent made the jump to EFI....yet.....
I think the PPE was stronger on the top end but the TTS Extreme tuning is pretty intense down low. i havent dynoed my truck to have concrete numbers but with my lift pump i should be at around 500.

If i was to do it over again, id get EFI from the start

I ran an 8.40 on a slick track last time out I not sure what it will do on a good track or the 1/4. On the EFI how do you realy no just how much more power you are geting. I am used to set tunes. I looked at TTS website and it give rwhp and I dont think that it is much more if any than my ppe and it is 1200 bucks.

You would know like you would with any other programmer, Dyno the thing. None of the programmers give you what they claim out of it. The ratings are based on a certain extent of modifications to obtain them. What I like about EFI live is that ability to tweak unlimitedly the things that need improving and the ability to monitor via logging almost any information you're looking for. It's the way to go and I am one of your friends that wouldn't recommend anything that would be wasting your money.
