Interesting, sub'd. Why would you need to use the LB7 valve body if you have a 6 speed vb?

If you wanted to swap a 6 into a 5 speed truck you would need to. It then will only have 5 gears. I was talking to the guy that said he had a built 6 speed he wanted to use in a older truck. If you wanted 6 gears in a 5 speed truck then you would have to use the custom vavlebody and tcm from this kit. I was just saying that all '01 to '10 allisons can be interchanged but your end result will still be a 5 speed for '01 to '05 and 6 speed '06 and up. Long story short if you want 6th gear to work in a lb7 or lly you have to run the custom conversation kits.

I understand how it works, just wondering as I have a 6 speed, do I need the whole conversion kit or can I just get a new conversion TCM? :thumb: I know call, but others are probably reading this thread and thinking the same thing.

Nobody will sell you a conversion TCM only.

I did, thanks for playing. See my above quotes!!!!

You're picking out quotes instead of reading the whole thread. My quote was in regards to the picture posted. The 2nd quote was for an off topic question asked that was answered. So if you had read the thread, most importantly the respinses from the man building the kit, you would have your answer.

I feel like a broken record but here you go one more time-

If you are asking if you can take a factory 6 speed and simply swap it in place of a 5 speed in a lb7 or lly '01 to '05 and use a custom tcm the answer is no it won't work.

If you convert the 6 speed into a 5 speed and use the custom vavlebody and tcm included with the kit then yes it will work.

And no you don't know how it works. The truck side harness, nsbu switch, internal harness, vavlebody are different between the 5 an6 speeds not to mention the tcms are talking different "languages". If you did know how it works how did you plan on hooking up the 3 truckside plugs on your 5 speed truck into the 1 plug on the 6 speed trans? Thats right you already knew the nsbu switches are internal on the 6 speed and on the out side of the case on a 5 speed.

Bottom line just ask your question don't be a know it all dick and people here will help!

Keep it up, see how long you last. We are not here to hold your hand and throw free info at your feet. But since you have a major reading comprehension issue and I feel like proving my point. Page 4 at the bottom posted by josh (chavez91) answers the very question you asked early.

Oh and I’m not being an asshole by far, just being direct. Sorry if it hurt some feelings

Le sigh, no, that's not what I am asking. I was asking if I could use a 6 speed valve body with the aftermarket TCM tuning.

Le sigh #2, I know, I already posted that info when someone said I couldn't use a 6 speed behind the LB7.

See, wasn't that so hard, :D Just read it, still a bit hard to find if you aren't really looking but does answer my question now, thank you.

If my wife can't hurt my last feeling, there is nothing you can do to hurt it,
