I hope they're attached right, one is an 02 OS that is supposed to have ODLO enabled but I have never tried it.

Other one is the stock TCM file from my truck, part throttle shifts were raised a couple mph, and it shifts good with Marks tunes. I still haven't messed with the TCM since the new tables were released

I remember reading a full blown list from Ben Tyler about different OS's and different pro's/cons of each one. He said there was no perfect one but named a few that were pretty damn good. I'm going to try that 03 OS this weekend maybe and see what happens. Mine locks up at the top of 2nd right now and stays locked but shifts could definitely be better. Curious how the 03 OS will do. Just wish I remembered where I saw Ben's post at

Here is a video with the 03 OS tcm tune on my number 2 tune. The trans hung in 4th but overall I like it. Once I get converter restalled (reason for only building 2 lbs of boost in vid) and new valve body in she should run great!

Ill stick with the 03 os in my 05. I think it has the best shifts personally. The 01 os always has a harsh 2-1 downshift in my lly (as well as my lb7) , can't modify slip inhibit tables, and lose my high idle.
The EARLY 01 OS and the early 02 OS had problems with the 2-1 downshift. If you run the updated 01 OS from GM, it does not suffer from this problem. Also the 01-02 OS's can have OD lockout, but it isn't done through the tow haul button like 03-05 trucks were, it was through a hard wired switch to the TCM.

I'm content with the 03 os, although it does things I don't like compared to my 05 os. Lockup is about 7 mph later when just easy driving and also if i am cruising about 55 and let off the pedal it unlocks the converter, get back into it and it relocks a second later.

WOT is just fine, works like i want it to. I need to try out the 02 os I have, heard a few good things about it over the 03 os.

My 03 shifted nice just 1/2 throttle stuff and it did ok from a roll WOT at any speeds but when launching my 1-2 3-4 shifts were horrible. I literally just went for a test drive after flashing the 01 OS back in and ahh  shifts so nice again.

Keep in mind if you guys had modded TCM tunes that had torque tables modded for higher rpm and what not, and your trying a stock 03 tune, could be limiting tables in them making funky shifts

I really do not have a problem with any 5 speed OS that I tune. I believe most problems that you guys are having are coming from tuning related issues.

I really never had a problem with the 05 and 03 OS just driving normal and doing 1/2 and 3/4 pulls it's just they seemed to not learn and addapt as quickly as the 01 OS causing the hard shifts at WOT from a launch. Even with the tech 2 fast relearn those OS don't perform like the 01 OS did and with that I also think it clicks off gears faster. It's almost like the trans isn't even working that hard to transfer the power cause it's so smooth through the gears.

An 01 has slow adapts....they can't be reset.....so after they finally learn they are...OK....but afterwards I would probably agree they retain shift characteristics better. As they won't learn a negative shift easily
