Anyone out there a fabricator? I'm looking for a 5" intake..to go from my 5.5" to 5" 90* off my S475 to an air filter. Currently running a ghetto rigged intake for now... anyone want to build me one?

It won't be that easy Tony as there are so many variations in setup a local shop might be a better alternative as there won't be any fitment issues.

It took several fab hours to get my 5" done. It's gonna need to be custom built Tony with the truck to work on.

Shoot...wish I a mandrel bender and a welder...when I was back home and had those tools I've been known to be an okay fab guy myself...well or I could just bend shit up and weld random things together and call it art lol...hmm maybe that could fund my motor build:rofl:

just order the pieces from intakehoses.com and have a bung machined for the MAF sensor. it may not be super pretty but you can make it about as trick as you want with pieces from them.

you could go with 5.5" up to a 6" to the filter also, that's what im doing, and there are AFE dry filters with 6" inlets ill get the part # in a minute

EDIT: AFE-21-90038 6" inlet, 9" base, 7" top, 7" height
EDIT #2: i suggest the dry media because of how messy the oil gets at high boost, even at 45psi with a K&N or oiled anything it'll start to suck the oil right up into the turbo and its a grity, sticky oil

I agree but are you McMaster-Carr tubing? Plus I think it'd be sweet to build one just don't see the tools being available

got any under the hood shots? i know the LBZs have a PITA intake runner you gotta work around. if it anit something that needs some crazy contours to it i may be able to throw something together for ya in a weekend if you make it this way. just depends what i gotta work around to make the intake fit. I know steve has a big arss 5.5" or 5" elbow (cant remember) on his lly with a s472 and t4 ped. not sure if it would work with the s475 though

No i was sent the blue stuff when i ordered all the lines and misc. pieces. The black stuff is McMaster Carr nice stuff.... I was quoted 500-700$ for a metal intake I am sure its worth that as it takes time to do BUT for me it is a waste of money as with the tubing it is 50$ for a 5ft piece and that will get me just about 2 intakes.
