Hey guys, I'm on vacation and having problems with my POS 2004 dodge. Driving down the interstate the throttle will drop out and come back sometimes, like its defueling. No CELING or anything. I don't have anything more than hand tools with me. Where do I start or do i just find a dodge dealer or something?

Haha yeah I was afraid of that. Not my idea of a vacation lol
Also, I didn't think the 04 would be affected by the lift pump issue since they are common rail. Thanks.

up til 04.5 they still put the lift pump on the side of the fuel filter canister. they are notorious for taking a dump at bad times....

not hard to change. if you can find one. if not instal a holley red in line close to the tank. works great.

seems high. if pump isnt on the fuel cannister it must have already been updated to the in tank design.

Unfortunately I do not but its getting towed back home Tuesday and going to a dealer. I left it there, my dmax didn't let me down, if pulled my 35' camper down and back beautifully :D but the dodge wanted to stay there I guess. I don't like it anyways lol.

Ok, now this issue is getting really frustrating. Mechanic in TN put in mopar part # 5086498AB and now the truck is back home at my local dealer. The dealer says the truck has the lift pump on the filter housing, mechanic in TN said it didnt. Dealer says that part number is for a tank sending unit without fuel pump??? Can anybody check for me? That part cost me almost $500 and if it doesn't even have a pump I am going to be really pissed at somebody.

if its an 04.5that truck does not have a lift pump on the filter housing... after market lift pump is way cheaper than buying 1 from the dealer...
