4x4 switch light on and says service 4wd now

just started, all lights on 4x4 stay on and sometimes goes into neutral
gear indicator blinks when this happens

Alot of times its just a bad switch.

yeah im going to try switch out of my other truck
theres a box behind the switch(havent pulled it out yet but once in a while it would make a relay clicking noise... would that have anything to do with this?)
