That was 10 years ago, Mike walked me through a build up. Trans turned out great and lasted a long time. Mike led a blind squirrel to the nuts:roflmao:

Now you guys get to poke fun some more. Been banging my head on this one for awhile. I've tried 2 different shallow pan filters, new bell housing gaskets gm part # 29536478 and 29540130 and finally a new pump. Still no line pressure at port, and fluid doesn't pull down off of dipstick. P0701 code.

I can see thru the plate at all the openings and all the bolt holes line up. Problem started after I swapped valvebodies after the truck hung the b trim valve on test drive after the re assembly. So in have no idea why it's showing up now. And not before

02 5 speed suncoast 1056, gmax 5-1. Ratio tek hydros, transgo jr with Mike's trim springs.

Pulled the stator apart none of the valves were sticking. The pump had some scoring so I replaced it and the wear plate.

Bolt holes will line up even if gaskets are crossed. The gasket with the big hole goes on last up against the trans case. Your pump has transferred metal but will still make pressure. Make sure your stator shaft didn't twist around or work its way out of the stator body.

Thanks, I've done a few of these now but I feel so dumb right now. I'll pull it out for the 6th time tomorrow and look at stator. Didn't think about the stator shaft twisting.

How fast does the pump have to spin before it creates pressure? I'd like to figure out a way to spin it to see if I've solved it before I reinstall again. Even if it would just bump my gauge I would be happy and would save a couple hours

Pump is connected to the outer body of the converter, therefore it will make pressure the second the engine turns over.
Pull all the valves out of the stator support and make sure nothing is sticking. The lube valve along with the converter limit valve are know for sticking

So if I turned trans over on its back, poured oil in filter hole, put a handle
In converter and spun it should squirt oil out ? Would be nice to check before I put back in truck again

You can not spin it fast enough by hand to make pressure.

All the stator valves are free moving and came right out. I hate to do this without finding a problem but looks like I'm gunna have to find a new stator, pump, and comverter housing.

Wrong way to do this. There is nothing wrong with the bell housing. Was anything changed in the pump assembly?

So with the pan off and trans on its back, pouring oil into sump oil gushes out of test port as I spin it by hand, with valvebody back on, filter in and 2 gallon of oil in the pan, rolling it over by hand doesn't get me any oil at the test port. So I guess I'm getting a bad seal at filter
