I just save boosted launches for the track. I guess I dont see the point of stressing or breaking parts unnecessarily, or the possibility of losing control of the truck on a public street. Just me putting my "professional driver" hat on.

A coworker was telling me about his son and him doing some test launches in his 6.0 gasser 4x4 Silverado, and how the truck "when all over the place" when they did it. Scared them all to hell.
First thing I asked, "Are the Tbars dropped?"
"Uh, no. Are we supposed to?"
Then, "Do you have tie rod sleeves and have you braced the centerlink?"
"Uh, no"
"Well, looks like you have some work to do." ...as I shook my head.

These guys think they can take on my truck. Oh boy.
You do have a lot more to loose if things were to go south . But don't you just love when them ppl think they got something against these trucks

Take their money in a race, then sign them up for community college with it, they need it....

:roflmao:

6.0 vs 6.6
Diesel power potential vs gas
Turbo vs N/A

I think a simple math and basic science class would suffice

:spit:

Although....I've seen some pretty fast turbo silverado's/seirra's, I doubt these clowns are in that echelon of performance

I was bringing home the flatbed trailer with the Vette on it in Blue.

I pull up to a stoplight on Archibald (main hwy).

A maggot in a minivan pulls up in the Right Turn Only lane. I can tell he wants to pass me on the Green Light. There is only room for one vehicle in about 400 yards.

I push the 4x4 button, and hold Blue at 2500rpm.

When the light went green, it was pretty even, then I started to pull a little. As we get close to 2:1 barrier that ends his lane, he gives it up.

Wait. I thought we were playing, right? I'm NOT done playing dammit!

I let up also. I'm about 45' long. He is trapped. He locks up the brakes and barely avoids hitting the barrier.

Good times. :D

OWNED!!!!!! lol

Funny story, kind of long and way funnier in person. One of the other sales guys at the office had a similar thing happen to him. The lane was necking down on a 3 lane highway and a chinese dude in his minivan was determined to cut my buddy off. Well my buddy never hit the brakes just kept rolling... Chinese dude comes over into him and makes contact.

They exit and pull into a parking lot. In a chinese accent, he is screaming "why you no let me ovuh" lol my buddy is on the onstar speaker with the police. while the guy is yelling and walking over. Just so happens he goes on hold for a second so my buddy tells the zipper head to be quiet he's on the phone. The chinese guy loses it, starts screaming "you racist! you white people all the same! you no let me ovuh, your fault!" all the while the emergency operator is back on the line and listening to this guy yelling through the window. It was classic.

When the officer shows up shortly after, all you hear is "he racist! he no let me ovuh! his fault!! he no let me ovuh!"

So much funnier in person!!!!

I love it! Not sure I would have let off at the end to trap him, but then again, he was illegally passing in a turn lane, and kind of deserved it. He would have been at fault too.

A few years back my friends and I were coming back from a camping trip. We were stopped at a light at the bottom of a hill, towing a small camping trailer. This was back on my 425 HP tune. In the fast lane a lifted Ford Excursion diesel (with gauges, large chrome tip, the works) pulls up. I glance over, and he is sneering at me, then shakes his head. Hmmm, OK. I figure I will see how it plays out. I take off normally, and he goes WOT. I hammer down too, and walk him. By the time I hit 60, he was hanging back by the trailer. I let off (55 max when towing in CA), and he does a ricer fly by, but his girl in the passenger seat is laughing her ass off at him. Made our day.

I kind of did something similar a few years ago when I was headed back home from Moab.

They were doing road construction on the interstate coming into Salt Lake City, and they had a lane closed which was clearly marked several miles ahead of the construction. Of course, traffic was backing up and people were staying in the lane that was closed so they could jump ahead of all the people that moved over like they were supposed to.

I got tired of traffic backing up, so I got into the closed lane and rode next to a buddy of mine. As we got closer to the lane closure, traffic started to move pretty good because it wasn't being slowed down by the idiots merging at the last second.

I was also pulling a trailer with a very big lifted Suburban on it, so the car behind me(there was only one, tailgating me very closely I might add, by the time we reached the closure) couldn't see around me very well. At the last second, I got over in front of my buddy, and the car behind had to slam on the brakes and dodge between a couple of orange barrels to keep from running into them.

I looked in my rearview mirror, and as far as I could see, the car was still sitting there. I know it was a **** move, but it gave me some small satisfaction.

Remember the road test in Wendy after we did the trans? You were driving and an Audi S4 tried to tree you in a construction zone. OOPS :roflmao:

I have kicked my truck into 4wd and launched it a few times. Just on empty back roads though. But being a stock trans and stock front end with 285s it's kind of like juggling dynamite over a camp fire. So I don't do it much.

I'm also guilty of scaring the hell out of a-holes who think they can pass using turning lanes or waiting till the last minute to merge.
