I wouldn’t put anything bd on my lawnmower. Much less one of my trucks.

Your problem is bd’s shit is junk. Go to a reputable trans builder and start over.

Nothing wrong with them re using your trans as the core to build on. As long as they replace all the parts that are / were bad. I doubt anyone here really knows what BD puts inside those units, so little insight will probably be shared as to what the problem might be.

What happens when the trans "goes out" each time? Just limps? Overheats?
Well....ha
U name it they've done it. 1st 1 had some kind poor machining internally, every time it shifted it felt like the drive line was gonna drop out. Next 1, had it 1 month towing camper to the next job and went from operating temp to 305 in about 5 seconds, they claimed pump failure. Number 3, never skipped a beat until it did. Never bucked, slipped, trouble w decelerate shift nada...driving 35 mph pulled up to red lite and it was in trailer mode never "deshifted",
And that was it, all the clutches were welded up and I had the normal drive in limp mode. No back up etc. So, now were onto number 4. This truck has no trans tuning but running starlite dsp5 on a completely built motor. Rite around 700 as near as we can figure...does that help?

What kind of tuning are you running and power level? What year truck?
I've had dmax tuner, starlite I believe that's it. Performance tune, 100 over sound about rite? 2006 lbz. Built motor around 700.h.p. It isn't beat for sure, welding rig rite around 11.500lbs w out camper.
Camper might get pulled 3x a year if that.
Performance level does best, egts stay down, power is there if I need it

I got Evans kit in my Duramax. Installed it myself was quite a chore lol. Evan was a lot of help answering calls and texts. I’d buy another from him in a heartbeat. Awesome guy!

Your about 3 hours from BigDipper and probably the same from Evan. If you would call and talk to them they can probably have a trans waiting that they could swap in and get you rolling again if you can't have alot of down time.

^^ exactly. Just start over, then go after BD if you can.

Evan's phone is 1-413-770-3585. Hes a very helpful person who has an excellent rep.

BigDipper's contact info has been a state secret for as long as Ive been in the Dmax hobby (15 years), so I have no idea what it is.

Keep in mind, the stress on your truck @ 11500# and ~700hp (no idea what you've done to the engine/turbo/fueling) is very similar to guys drag racing @ 7000# running 11s.

I know Evan's trans will handle that, but I cant say anyone's ever done it with a BD trans and had it survive.

Good luck.

Wow man I had no idea!?
Umm, engine balanced, mahle, carillo, ceramic top coated, decked heads, studded, all new internals let's leave it at that. Fuel system brand new, 50% over industrials, new cp3, fass lift, mishi inter, welded y pipe, dont recall turbo in mm, but it's a stage 2 Garrett I know. Ppe manifolds, up and down pipes, s n b, 4" stainless from turbo back. Some others I'm sure I've forgotten. But yeah.

Damn man, you built that engine to a T. :thumb: I look at it as the stress accelerating and moving that mass is similar to a lighter truck down the strip.

As it is, just call Evan Monday morning. :) This is in his wheel house and he'll take care of you (or at least guide you to a good solution ;))
