Been a while since I've come back to this thread. The truck is still running, been my daily driver for quite a while as my duramax is down. I can't recall completely the details of the resister, from what I can remember the application was for a 57 chevy points style ignition. I will add that I tried using an incandescent light bulb in line to limit current and it was too much, the solenoid wouldn't activate at all, so the resistance doesn't need to be that much IMO.
