Been a while since I've come back to this thread. The truck is still running, been my daily driver for quite a while as my duramax is down. I can't recall completely the details of the resister, from what I can remember the application was for a 57 chevy points style ignition. I will add that I tried using an incandescent light bulb in line to limit current and it was too much, the solenoid wouldn't activate at all, so the resistance doesn't need to be that much IMO.

just dug this back up... bout to upgrade from a 400 to 4l80 on a project figure i'd check in on it
Currently layed out across the bench. Had a lip seal fail inside the trans and that combined with deep snow 38.5" tires and a stubborn driver equates to a manditory rebuild. Dont think it was the kits fault though, pushing hard in chest deep snow im sure the poor thing was running far too hot...
your has the cast or steel formed pistons? i almost of a 2wd 2000 4l85 for 300.00 need the money for other stuff...
