I built a 3.5" downpipe for my truck... which wasn't fun, especially doing it without removing the heat shield etc.

Anyway, I'm seeing about the same results as the guys with the 3" diamond eye and MBRP downpipes.. maybe mine runs cooler, and breathers better, and sounds better? ...but if it does it's not a very big difference at all. I did it just to "make sure" I wasn't leaving anything on the table (and because if I'm going to build one, I'm going big).

But I think you will see far more results getting rid of the stock one for one of the ones mentioned aboved, than your going to see from one of the ones above vs. a 4" dp.

Have you tried backing down the tune? Is the tune on a DSP program, so you can kick it back to a very mild low EGT tune for the heavy grades? Might be an idea.

You could install a boost controller, mine knocks about 150-200 deg. off when towing. Just noticed you have Rob's tuning, why dont you just call him and get him to add a little boost to your tow tune.

Fleece cheetah turbos now come with any option for 4 inch outlet and when I talked to them they said they were useing a hx40 downpipe. I dont think its an exact fit but thats what he said they use. More than likely has to be made to fit but its something to start with :dontknow:

I just drop a gear and slow down on hard hills for only a few miles I don't make it that much faster peggin' the temp gauge on 1500. Seems like always have to slow down on the backside of the climb for all the corners and flatlanders lookin' at the mountains...
