466 or 366

Been doin a lot of towing lately And getting tired of the turbo lag from my 475 still looking to put out a lot of power but wanna switch out to a smaller turbo to light faster do I just switch my 475 to a 466 or pick up a whole 366 turbo? My 475 has 1.0ar and billet wheel but just ain't cutting it for the 18k loads drive pressure is crazy high

Prob not enough my egts up hills run around 14-1500 and cruising like 11-1200 I'm tryin to drop that too

Is your 475 the 83mm turbine or 87mm turbine? If it's an 83mm turbine, the 466 isn't going to spool a whole lot quicker since it will be the same 83mm turbine wheel. The 366 uses a 73mm turbine, so it'll light a lot quicker and tow better, but your going to sacrifice top end performance and drive pressure will be higher.

If you're trying to make big power and tow that heavy, twins are your best options. Stock turbo with a s475/87/1.32 will tow awesome.

Cheapest and easiest option would be to swap an S366 in. S475 over stock would work the best though. Maybe someone wanting to go bigger that has a S366 will work out a trade with you?

Yeah at wide open throttle I'll peg a 60psi drive pressure guage and only be at 40 psi boost

I have dual fuelers with 40% injectors I still wanna put down good numbers but want it to be reliable and towin is just Gettin to be a pain no that I'm hooked to a trailer 4 days out of the week

Pulling it off and selling as a kit once I get it finished.

Twin is the really the only way to go if that is what you want. you will also need an aux oil cooler

I run a 464 as a single also, and the difference between it and the 475 with 1.01 housing I was running is night and day. Much closer to stock IMO.

I run a 464 as a single also, and the difference between it and the 475 with 1.01 housing I was running is night and day. Much closer to stock IMO.

how many of you are towing a 18,000lb trailer with said S400 turbos on a daily basis?

But I tow 10K often with a GCVW of about 18000lbs and it has no issues. Egt's under 1100, Max around 1350 pulling long hills. The more weight, the better I find it works.

If I was towing weight, I would prefer the S400 chassis over a 300 as you get a bigger shaft=stronger. Women like a bigger a shaft too Adam!

I rather have a 466 in the valley than a 366. But I still say twins are the way to go.
Not that my shaft doesn't do ok on its own...
