I ended up unhooking my gate. I don'thave the fuel to need it right now anyways. I can't drive my secondary turbo hard enough to need gating around it.

Probably because you have a larger housing on your high pressure. I don't remember what's your total boost and atmo boost?

I have ported heads and an empire street cam so I'm not sure how much that affects it...overall Boost is 52psi and 22psi from the 88mm. The 88 has a 112mm turbine as well.

They way I was set up my atmo was always doing more than 50% of the total boost.

In my opinion yes 100% is too big but I live at high elevation so my opinion is skewed from others.

Maybe I will have to play with my gate a bit. I had the gate running off spring tension only with the 25lb springs in. As soon as I'd hit 25 psi gate would slam open then the atmo would hit 30 psi and overall would be like 35 psi. It was doggy too.

Tell me what you think of this....

Run the gate off spring tension down around 20 psi but reference the gate off of atmo boost instead of overall boost. That way i could still drive the high pressure hard before the gate opens. Simpler than messing with a regulator i guess is what I'm getting after.

Truck runs like a beast how it currently is (gate unhooked).

to me spring doesnt really matter, i use total boost to control when my gate opens and how much, using the regulator on the top port and full to the lower. with more spring pressure it just keeps the gate more consistent so drive pressure spikes are less likely to open the gate too early.

I'm running Turbosmart products myself but I use their manual controller that connects to the bottom of the gate and 33 lbs of spring. I can make boost go either way dramatically. I usually try to run boost where the splits are close to equal and obtain as much total boost as possible with that split. Drive pressures are usually within a 1.2 to 1 range at wot. Normal driving is less than 1 to 1. I see no boost driving around at all.

You need to drive my truck. You'll change your mind about an s400 as the high pressure. I can still even go down to a .90 housing to gain even quicker spool. It spools awesome.
