Been running a tune that maxes out at about 31-32psi. Sometime it might show a split second peak of 33lbs. I've been running same tune since November. I haven't touch the truck or the time, Im just a plug n play(have no clue or care to tune) and out of nowhere the tune is now hitting 40psi at wot and blowing my SD boost sleeve. I can do a 3/4 throttle and hit 35 easy. Is there something simple I can do to lower the boost so I can play again and before shootin an email to the tuner(besides getting off the pedal)? I can't even play anymore cuz I've always been conservative with the truck and dont want to hurt the stock turbo. I'm guessing popping the boost sleeve tore a hole in the hood lining, looks like crap!

Hmmm.... I don't know what would cause that to happen, if in fact you are making 40 PSI of boost I'm pretty sure you are pushing the stock turbo way past its limits.

My SD boost sleeve is doing the same thing and my big tune only hits 32. Kinda starting to drive me crazy.

or possibly replace it all together. chances are its no longer reading as high as your tune is requesting and its trying to compensate with more vane and is making more booth then it thinks its making.

if that makes sense

Clean your connections realy well on the sd sleeve and give it a spray with some hairspray. Hook it up while the hairspray is still wet. Works good on intercooler boots also.

thought 32lbs was max for stock turbo, so Ive never wanted or had a tune to go over that. Ive only had 3 different tunes in my truck. Mcrat, Dannyhd2500, and now idaho rob. Every one of them never went pass 31-32, even Danny's was awesome at 22-23lbs... Now all of a sudden hitting 40 and blowing my sleeve sucks!!! im on level 4 now and still hitting 35lbs....

I've cleaned it with windex, even though it appears cleans. I let it dry them sprayed it with hairspray and slipped it on wet. I then parked the truck in the garage for two weeks before I even drove it again. Did a 4wd launch, hit 41lbs and blew the sleeve again... That's when I started this post in hopes to figure out something new. I did see where someone put two fastners on each side instead of the one that comes with it... I dont see the room to put two though...

hhhmmmmmm I want level 5 back! Ill do a search on how to clean or replace the map sensor

be persistant! bout the 9th? time of windex cleaning and hairspray, the sleeve hasnt popped off. I let the truck sit over a week and did a couple logged runs. It hit 4x(cant remember now) and held up. Now just need to figure out the boost level. Now truck has been sitting for couple weeks now...
