The extra tabs must be for clocking the compressor housing when used in a different setup?. Thats the only guess I have.
I was pretty upset since it all could have been avoided if I had been told about it. Its over now and I'm just happy its running good. I was getting tired of driving it in manual mode just to keep the boost up and the smoke to a minimum!
I'm interested to know how Ken likes using the 4094AVNT in a twin kit and the other turbo he's running.

Nevermind the hole, that's a cheap and relatively easy fix... I'd be worried about where the missing piece is.

Hopefully blown out from the pressure ....

Ya I thought about this too seeing the picture of the hole .... picturing small aluminum pieces jammed in the top of the pistons or stuck down the side of piston in ring glands .

Not cool !! ... or something I would want to be picturing on my motor .

Relatively easy?! Hahahahahaha! You obviously haven't had to do this before! The new lower intake manifold only cost me $60 though.

The motor ate the piece of aluminum. I'm not extremely concerned about it, my 2011 D-MAX will be here soon.

Ben, Ken used the 4094vvt in a twin set-up but I am not sure what the low psi turbo was.
If you're talking about Subman and his truck Whiteout, I'm almost positive the 4094 he used is a fixed geometry turbo.

Yes, relatively easy! Why, would fixing or replacing the entire engine be easier? Or how about the hundreds of hours you'd have to work to pay somebody to fix it.

Are you sure? He got with me several months ago and ask about how I liked the 4094vvt.

The bottom end characteristics of the 4094AVNT should make a great turbo to twin with. Tyler, do you have any plans to add a twin to your truck any time soon?

It is in the cards, but not until I decide to tear the engine down and do it all. I am not quite ready to pop it yet.:D

I hear ya on that. I should be on Team Borrowed Time! I need a trans and probably about due for a tear down on the motor! I'm looking at a new long block to go in so I can build up the motor that I pull out. I'm on the fence though, I would really like a 2011D-MAX and I already got the "OK" from the misses! I change my mind every other day! Maybe I'll just let it all go for a 2011 TransAm! Those are sick!

i say 2011 t/a but then again what do you expect from a guy who wears a "what would bandit do?" shirt and only if it comes with a bird on the hood! besides you could always find a cheaper/older dmax for a dd and make the t/a your "go to town" car:thumb:

It does have the Phoenix on the hood! Check out Phoenix T/A (not sure the exact website). They are sick!
Maybe I'll hit the Powerball and buy them both! Wishful thinking!
