4094AVNT Warning!!!

This is what happens when the "Vendor" you buy a 4094AVNT from forgets to tell you that a small tab needs to be removed prior to install. Otherwise you get to do this because of it!!!! Not a whole lot of fun!

It was the first picture I posted. See the fingers holding the tab.

Yeah, I thought it was a tuning problem for the last 3 months?! Nope just a giant hole in the lower intake manifold!

I just don't want anyone else to go through that! If I hadn't ordered a set of lower intake manifolds over a month ago I wouldn't have been able to fix it. They are on back order right now!

Glad I could help. You are not the first person I have talked with that wasn't informed about the tab. One guy actually ditch the turbo because he thought it was performing that lousy. Then he found the hole while installing twins.

I had it up for sale before I talked to you. I think an S480 would be a good candidate for a compound setup. Has anyone used the 4094AVNT in a twin setup?

How does she run now with it fixed?? What kind of boost do you make in the high rpms? are you on a stock trans btw?

It runs like a champ! The tune I'm running right now is making about 32 psi and it gets there pretty quick. I'm still on a stock trans with a Transgo Jr.

This is what I would do to mine if I didn't have a car that was a lot faster than my truck for 1/2 the money :rofl: I just can't help but keep modding the truck though Damnit.. I'm going to stop after a downpipe and finish my car................. I swear!!

Interesting to see how the trans holds up... seems if a guy was to design his tune to focus more on high hp / high rpms and not so much low end torque the trans may last a while.. this is what I did with my tune but I don't have the turbo to hold the boost up top. Sounds like a killer setup though, glad it's all working well for you now!

Ben, Ken used the 4094vvt in a twin set-up but I am not sure what the low psi turbo was.

Wow what a pain in the ass . Alot of labor and hassle for such a stupid oversight .

Why the hell would they even have that tab on the turbo if it is suppose to be a direct bolt on for a dmax .

Sorry to hear of your hassles .... you must have been pulling your hair out trying to figure out why it ran so shitty ...... and then when you saw that hole .

Crap ... you must have been pissed to say the least .
