So the NHRDA changed the Super Street rules for 2016 & I can't run the 1/2 ton like I was planning. Now I'm faced with slowing it down to run 10.90s or stepping it up to run Pro Street. I'm leaning towards dropping weight & going for Pro Street. Now I know the leaf springs aren't going to cut it. What would you suspension gurus recommend for the rear suspension. I'm thinking a legit 4 link with some QA1s & coil overs but have no experience with this.

good shocks and Caltracs have been in the 7's.

Shocks your best source to talk to would be mencer http://menscerms.com/

Another great shock.

Controlling what's going on will help tons. I would use a go pro and see what your suspension is doing. (Mount under the truck during a pass)

If your ok with back halfing the truck it's a great option I backhalfed my chevelle and it's great for a big tire for sure. I am doing the 25.5 upgrade this winter as Chassis wise I'm do for an upgrade.

Are you going to upgrade to a 25.5 or 25.3 chassis? I'm not sure on your et goals but your capped at 8.50 without going to minimum 25.5 (where I would upgrade to)

Bickel has some great pieces for four linking as well..

Not sure what your plan is for the truck but once you go pro street and want to be competitive, the truck will no longer be streetable. With as fast as these guys are going now you better be able to run an 8.5 every pass. Next year once they come out with the new 25.6 sfi cage you better be able to run low 8's high 7's.
The way the new pro street trucks are being built is insane. They are full out race trucks that weigh 3000lbs then they add 1500lbs of ballast where they need it.

If you're going to go pro street you defiantly need to four link with a wish bone and anti roll bar. A good pair of double adjustable coil over will also be needed. The top guys in pro street are pulling 1.2x 60ft now.

good luck with which ever way you decide to go and have fun!!

We are still caped at a 8.5 no matter what sfi cage we have, at this time. Are minimum weight for the class is 4500. The most you can weigh and still pass tech with a 25.5 or 25.3 is 3600. That's why they are coming out with the new sfi 25.6 for us heavy guys. It's in the final stages of passing sfi right now. So if you plan on doing something crazy like a 25.x I would hold off until they pass the 25.6.

Thanks for the info Brett. That's what I was after. If we do this we don't wanna do the minimum to be legal in the class but rather go all in & be competitive. It will be a slow process but this way I have an idea where to start. Sounds like we really can't do much planning until the new 25.6 sfi cage is finalized. We still have a lot to learn with the new setup so I'm sure there won't be a dull moment:)

If you mean me hold off I'm ok as my car is only 3400 and could lose some weight. Have fun learning with this project I know to me that's the fun part.
