Hey fellas,
like the majority of guys like me, I already have my tax return spent! (without having it yet :thumb: ) I'm thinking of putting a cognito 4-6" on the front ONLY and letting the torsion down all the way for an awesome ride.
-Do yall think I could run 35's?
-How high do you think the front end will sit after being loosened back down after install?
-Do you think this will even work? haha

Any info is appreciated!!
ps: pics you have some:)

Here is some pictures of my 03' with a Rancho 4" lift and 35x12.5x18 Toyo M/T's on 18x10 wheel's. I had to crank up the torsion bar's to get them to clear. It had a 2.5" block in the back. I don't think you will get 35's to clear with a 4" lift dropped down unless you run some skinny wheel's and tire's. BTW, I sure do miss this truck !!!!

that was my 05 with 35's on a 6" fabatech lift. I had no clearance issues with the tires. I think a 4" lift would be a headache if you wanna run 35's. (don't pay attention to the steel wheel on the front I got a flat that day)

So i am planning the same as you, but in the deciding period i ran my truck with no t bar bolts at all, all the way down. I did this first to see if i liked the ride enoigh to commit to it with the lift kit, fact is i did not like it. I even went to the extent of putting on a 3" drop shackle to see if i liked a lowered truck too, i did not appreciate either lowered or riding with the torsion bars all the way relaxed.

Before my current set of tires, i ran skinny 35's with just a cognito upper control arm level lift, but it was maxed out which led to a set of problems you dont want, no matter how many bigger and better parts you have, trust me, i have them.

All this to say, a cognito lift set at or just under 5" should clear 35's with some trimming, i already did all the trimming to clear my skinnys with the level lift, so im ready, but i still am acquiring parts, when i asked the same question as you the response was it wont look right or wont function right, i agree after doing my own "field investigation" of ride hieghts and what not. A 2" lift block at minimum, or a set of Deaver mini packs should be used, i am getting the mini packs friday, i shiuld have the lift on with tires in about 3 weeks, if ya wanna wait....

4in lift with 35s is tight on any gm truck. Sure u can do it with some cutting, but u also need the right rim configuration. A good set of shocks goes a long ways when it comes to lifts or lowering kits. Bars all the way down or 1/2 turned up will yeild best ride and handling by far. If it was me id run a 6gear turned down to your liking. Theres a reason they say 4in for 33s and 6in for 35s.

Thanks for all of the info! I will definitely wait around until you finish yours. I would really like to run my 305's that I do now with it, if it would be dropped low enough. I like the levelled ride look now and i'm not too concerned with any bigger tires but more so a smooth ride.
DAMN IFS!!!

Looks sweet shep, you can fit 35's on a stock height truck, one of the guys I pull with has them on his truck they are tight and some massaging was required but he drives it to and from pulls and up and down the highway, i'll see if I can find a pic, another guy has 35's and a 4" lift lowered and it works too

X2.....My 05 Has a 4" lift 35 12.5 18's with the bars all the way down. Also my old 03 (BLK one) had the same size tires/rims with bars about midway with minor trimming (NO LIFT)..

Thanks guys. :thumb: Just throwing it out there that I can run 315's on H2's easily as well...as long as I use stick on weights on the inside dish. The Tuff Country spindle doesn't like hammer-on inside weights on the H2's without using a spacer.

duramaxzak and hotCOCOAL do yall have any direct side shots that better show tire/cab distance on your trucks and what heights are your trucks set at? Im curious about this same setup but i want to be able to run 33s or 35s and i know 33s would look way to small with the cognito 7" but dont wanna have to max out the 4-6 kit. FYI for others most 35s run short if that helps any

The 4" kit is perfect for 33" tall tires and up to 34"
However with some creative trimming, it looks factory and you won't notice it and will be able to run 35" tall tires. Me personally, I didn't want to run a 12.5 wide tire but I did want a 35" tall tire. I found my tire in a 285/75/18 which equates to 34.8" tall and 11.5 wide, perfect for what I wanted.

So I'm basically clearing a 35 on a 4" lift, that's set at 4-4 1/2" the t-bar bolts are only turned in 4 revolutions

These are the closest pics I have to what you're asking for
