yup! still on 37s. i wouldnt reset taps, ill leave it as is and let it learn as i slowly increase throttle increments. it may be different now with the defuel set right but i tried putting stock tires on my rig few years back for the track and it flaired, bucked and straight up gave me the finger the whole way down the track compared to the 37s.
i love my 37s never stock again and mine didnt even like the stock tune any more

I'm running 4:56 currently on 37's..like mentioned before highway speeds are pretty high on rpms...I'm right at 2200 at about 75-77mph...on the flip side, city driving and towing is MUCH better..especially if your in any kind of hills or mountains.. towing at 65mph in the mountains with 373's/37" is horrible..at least with a stock charger. low rpms..low boost..lots of smoke..high egts and jumps between 4-5 on my 5spd..456's have been a huge improvement as far as that's concerned. Keeps in 5th..good rpm..plenty of air moving to keep it cool.

what do your tires measure on the truck?

Trying to calculate this out is hard because I am not sure what tire height should be entered when nitto calls a tire 37 inch but it only measures 36 not mounted.

2200 at 75 doesnt seem too bad, 4.10's would be 2000 at 75

2200 is not 75-77mph in my truck. 2150 is just a hair faster than 70 mph. my tire measures 36.0 but they are also have lost about 1/4 of their tread since new. average it on a 36.5 and you should be good.

Thanks James, still debating on which set to go with since I have both now lol. I want the low end torque but I hate having to scream the truck just going down the highway.

Though its not my daily driver and I rarely pull.

James has my old axles with the 4:56s in them, and with my 37s (36" measured) I was turning just under 2500 rpms at 75 mph with my 5 speed Allison iirc. Awesome for towing, horrible for long trip highway mileage. I am happy with my 3:73s, but I never tow. The 4:56s are awesome for towing and around town driving.

i really think the 4.10s would be the sweet spot. if i drove the truck more unloaded, i would have stuck with 4.10s and never gone 4.56s. it would have the grunt for pulling and still give you great MPG unloaded. i really think you will be happy with those if you MPG minded.

2500 i could not live with haha. even on a short drive that seems like too low. Around town would be fun though.

I am running your tires so I would expect the same rpms unless there is a difference between 01-02 trans gearing and 03-05. Never heard of that though lly's seem to lock up alot sooner than my truck.

I am more concerned with the extra wear running my truck like that. I wish going to a 6 speed was a more affordable option for us then you get the better of both worlds.

lol if extra wear was a concern, you need to go back to stock everything. thos big heavy tires are wearing parts out faster than any stock truck no matter what gearing you put in it. unsprung weight cant be made up by gearing.

sure, as soon as you lose all your extra weight :D

I cant, im on stock tires now. No traction what so ever in 2wd haha. And it just looks so much better with 37's and my new welds

lol what im saying is the difference in wear and tear from any gear range between 3.73 to 4.56 will be next to non exsistant due to what you want for a setup.

I just try to mitigate where I can, but ya I get what you mean.

How do you like your set up after re-gearing?

Im confused how you guys are getting up to 2500 with 36 inch tires when the calculator says 2260 at 75mph.

Just took my truck out with 29.5 tires and 3.73's and it was around 2250 at 75.

So are 4.56's lower than stock gearing and tires and the calculators just off?
