Haha i went on a trip today in the LBZ to test the tune i installed and to relearn my trans after the transgo jr. install, oh and i went to 4" straight pipe exhaust, got rid of the stock cat and muffler.

Now before on the stock tune with just the egr disabled, cruising at 100km/h(62.5mph) the DIC would show around 19-20mpg average. With this tune, http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/local_links.php?action=ratelink&linkid=149&catid=13&lpage=1 my DIC said 31.7MPG after a 90km(56miles) trip cruising at 100km/h(62.5mph) and running thru one town where i had to stop for 3 lights.

When i left i had exactly half a tank of fuel, i came back with exactly 1/4 tank. Drove 210kms (131miles). It must be a lot better on fuel than the stock tune, but 10mpg better? I find it hard to believe. I'm gonna run a full tank thru it and hand calculate this to see how much better it actually is. I'll update this thread, as this truck is my daily driver and i'm only gonna buy mods to increase fuel economy, the goal is 25mpg average hand calculated, we'll see how close we can get. :woott:

Here's the truck, and yes, parts to fix the frontend are coming back with me after the world finals trip to kansas haha, it will look pretty again very soon

Interesting for sure, it would be nice to have the 6 speed myself. The challenge is keeping the speed down and you must have been holding up traffic, doing 100 kmh ANYWHERE I've ever been in Alberta :rofl:

I love the tooth fairy.:thumb: 25mpg is doable off Mt everest with a tail wind.
You have a fricken heavy brick pushing a lot of air. Stop smokin that shit. Try booze; it will bring you to reality.:thumb:

Lol most of it was double lane highway, no big deal, and it's not very busy on the roads around here

best I ever got was 25 mpg hand calculated and that was in Illinois were it was straight and flat

It's pretty flat around here too lol, couple small "bumps" here and there but nothing like the rocky mountains 3 hours west of us

If the wind isn't blowing around where you live, I believe it. I've seen 25mpg cruising at 90km/h between Brooks and the hat following an oversized load down hwy 1. That was hand calculated with my stock turbo and Chris' race tune with a few minor tweeks. I guarantee a bit of a wind or some hills and you can kiss that goodbye though !:D

I'll probably be cruisin to calgary again couple days after i come back from kansas so that will be a good test to see what it does at 110km/h. hopefully not too much wind and i'll have my AFE intake on by then too, and most of the body parts haha

Best I got was just over 23mpg on stock tires and PYO's when my LBZ was lowered. I know how heavty those XD monsters are, and can say that your not getting anywhere close to 31mpg. ;)

31mpg would only happen if you were being towed by a Jetta (if that was possible). :rofl:

Sometimes a tune will throw the DIC off. My tune usually shows 28mpg at cruise on the freeway....reality is more like 18. It is fun to dream, though.

I could break 25 with the BURB, but that is IF I can keep my foot out of it for that long. I've done 23 running about 60% highway and the rest stop and go traffic over a 750 mile tank trip(42 gallon tank). Then again I have 3.42 gears and set my tuning up in the TCM more so for milage. So IF I had a long enough stretch of road that I could hold 60-62 on I'm sure I could go well into the mid to upper 20's.

Its apples and oranges;

A Canadian gallon of water weighs 10 lb which is the same as 4.535 kg. The American gallon is equivalent to 3.786 litres, and since 1 litre of water weighs 1 kg, an American gallon of water weighs 3.786 kg. Obviously, the Canadian gallon is the larger.

The ratio is 1 gal(CAN) = 4.535 / 3.786 = 1.198 gal (US). Rounding this off to 3 significant figures, we find 1 gal(CAN) = 1.20 gal(US).
