I've tried searching for this everywhere I can, and have not found an answer to my specific issue, so I apologize if this has been asked and asked.

For the last several weeks, my truck has been blowing 30 amp "ParkLP" fuses by the handfuls. At first, I thought it might be due to the parking brake release which caused it the first time, but now, it's doing it if I happen to use the manual switch to turn the lights on.

I went to O'Reilly's by my office, and there was a fellow Chevy driver who said it was probably the sockets on the parking lamps in front. I've checked both, and one has a blown bulb, but other than that, they look great. I'm at a loss. When it blows, I lose my dash panel lights, tail lights, brake lights, etc...not good when you're traveling down the road.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Thanks for all of your help folks. I spent all afternoon yesterday tracing wires, climbing under the truck, changing the sockets for the parking lamps, etc... All to no avail. I called my mechanic, and he told me he can get it in tomorrow morning.

It even blows a fuse when I hit the keyless entry, so I know there's got to be a problem with the wiring to the sockets, but I san't find it for the life of me...I guess we'll see what the mechanic can find.

Thanks again! I love this place!

If your normal guy cant get to it, refer to post # 7 above for a fairly decent mechanic :D

I got his phone number if you need it ;)

i would try and taking a screw driver and scraping the contacts in the socket/ Also, if the bulb is blown there is a slight chance that is causing it too. The filament in the bulb is grounding out soehow. I wouls at least pull the bulb and check the socket.
