Only converter that in had that was garbage was a DPC triple disc that couldnt handle 750hp unlocked. Locled up it was ok. Haven't killed a sun coast or precsion though.

Suncoast 1054 - 3 years, lots of racing and it still worked fine. Spent most of its life over 500rwhp
Suncoast 1058- 1 year Clutch came apart from me towing all the time in traffic with a big single at 700rwhp and only using trans-go pump mods
Suncoast 1058 - almost 2 years with Mikes older springs and pump mods

How many miles did you get out of those 58 chris? And better question to those of you that know...can you make a 1058 into a 1054?

Precision ml great converter. ITW great converter but harsh lockup. Suncoast 1054 now haven't installed yet. Also have used a pile of 1056 and 57 suncoasts. No issues with the suncoast converters. Just recently ran into lockup issues with the Precision converter. I had sent it in for a cut / clean and restall 2300rpm and install billet stator. When it came back I had a sled puller converter. The only way I could get the converter to lock was with EFI or scan tool commanding it to lock. Turbine speed and output speed varied by more than 500 rpms which will never lock the converter in a lbz / lmm tcm. The true stall on this converter is closer to 3,000 rpm. I called precision and Jack said it was too loose they need to tighten it up. I have a sled puller buddy who wants it in his lb7 with lock up controller so there it goes. I loved the ml though. I really wanted to try a Georend R converter but they are very pricey and customer service @ Georend definitely could use some attention. Maybe next time I will try a Georend....

8 years and 83,000 miles on my "MikeL" Precision converter and Merchant build, with only twice/year fluid changes. Can't believe its been that long.

I've got about 5k on a cheap pos precsion of new hampton in my lb7. Made noise from day 1 but it's never slipped. I have an ML-G ready to go in my lbz when I get it going. Another buddy has 2k daily driving and towing with an ML-G and it is a pretty damn good converter for a stock turbo/small twin lbz/lmm

I have a buddy that used a converter from precision of New Hampton. He didnt have good luck with converter it was short lived. Then he sent it back in to get worked on and it came back with a 4k stall speed. Last converter he used and I wont be using them. Good luck.

As far as converter choice; I use only Goerend or Suncoast. I'm not interested in using any other company.:D

Just wondering why you are not interested in using anyone else? You were using Precision back when my trans was built and that is what I have in mine. Just wondering if they have had a lot of issues or what has changed.

Mike had told me that the Precision ML was a great converter. With Technology developments there are better choices available today. He likes the Goerends I know that. They are working with him on new development.
