That i dont have but good idea. Let me talk to josh and see where hes at. i know hes been out of town this week for work and was working on some other tuning stuff in front of this. he may have an extra i can use to go back and forth with

on the topic of good shifting TCM tunes, i really have no complaints about my 02 OS. smooth shifts even after going WOT and spending a week of grandma driving. initially it had to do 1 pass of WOT to get it to relearn WOT but steve did a couple tweaks to the ECM tune and now its consistent as can be. doesnt do anything strange other than the damn TC unlocking on down shift.
But your transmission was built correctly by someone who knows what he is doing......

And as you already know, and just said, proper ecm tuning (torque tables especially) is essential to making any tcm shift correctly.

As good as Mike's transmission shifts in that video, I'm gonna guess his ECM tuning is spot on.

Heh. Wouldn't you like to know
Hey James, I have a spare AL5 controller you can use, I'll take care of the licence if you need one.

I put the 01 TCC downshift unlock on the back burner for a bit as I've been in Texas consulting. But I'll jump back on it in a few weeks. Also to make adjustments so it won't abort TCC lock if it thinks it hasn't completed lockup by the time it's ready to command the next shift as that seems to be the cause of the inconsistent lockups with higher HP trucks. I've narrowed down shifting routines, just need to follow them through to fully understand how it handles the shift requests.

My concern was that when the trans shifts the following gear will be taller and increase the load. My thought was that by increasing the RPMs of the shift it will fall into the next gear and be a bit higher in the rpms and be able to handle the load better but I guess I was overthinking things.
You get the same RPM drop with 4.10 gears during a shift as you do with 3.42's, the difference is with 3.42's, you stay in a gear longer to a higher speed, and spend more time in each gear. I know alot of tuners say you have to retune your TCM when you change gears or tires, but I have YET to have one explain to me why other than they get paid for it. I know some want to retune to do like I did to get there shift points to a point more to there liking, but thats it.

I noticed since I had my throttle input adjusted and some low boost fueling my trans shifts a lot crisper. I'm never satisfied though, I need to learn how to do my own tuning, I have the buttons wore out and a fleet of windowed motors in the yard.
