yes. the odd occasion it is low in the rpms on the highway just tap down to 4th and away you go

Update: Every 5 speed truck making more than stock power should have 3.42s. It spends more time in each gear so the trans seems happier and isn't shifting so much, it pulls much smoother, and it dropped the rpms a bunch on the highway which killed the exhaust drone and generally makes my pants tight. DO IT.

I have no idea what mileaage was before to compare. Smiles per gallon are up 10% though.

What do you guys think about going to 3.42's on a 5 speed with 35" tires.... although they really measure 34.2" at full tread mounted....

it will be really long legged. more so than steve said and even more than my truck on 3.73 and 37s.
