I just saw the thread over at DP that they are available now.
To my surprise they even list OEM 3.42 parts. Is this a new option with the LMM?

I want them@@!!

AAM has always had the tooling for 3.42's for both the front and back. But I've never been able to find out how to buy them.

That's strange as the guy from Randy's is recommending to ask you ....

we(I work at Randy's) have a few sets in stock(not a lot but we do have a few front and rear) I am not trying to step on anyone's toes since we do not advertise on this board. I would recomend that any individual go through McRat or John K or any other authorized dealer to get the best price. PM me if you have any questions.

:confused::confused:

Here is a rpm calculator JoshH posted on the DP. I know its for the 6 spd but arent the ratios the same for the 5 spd. anyway you can change gear ratio and tire size

That is a tough call... as there are so many variables...you might need the 265's for traction but the extra weight is a disadvantage.
The 3.42 gears would definately allow you to run higher speeds with smaller (lighter) tires. Therefore it is a must have for the all out race truck. Since we have plenty of torque available these gears will not hurt you. It is about the same thing as running 33's instead of the stock size....
except that the tire weight will not change.
