Can’t imagine that they would? I’d think it would interrupt regeneration so it would constantly be starting and stopping that function. I could be smoking crack, however.

Hopefully they will go to an electric dpf in the future, I know they were under development.

I think all plans or hopes of an electric DPF are all but gone.

I dont see how one would work anyways. How much heating from the electric elements would be required to replace what is normally done by fuel? 3k watts? 10k watts? I think it ended up way to high. Even at 3k watts you would need a dedicated 250 amp alternator at 14.4 volts.

I think the better solution would be to insulate the exhaust and DPF, maybe double walled tubing, and see if passive regeneration could occur more often. Or put it closer up behind the cat to capture some of the heat

Either that or put a chunk of plutonium in the dpf and it would regenerate even when the engine is off. Would suck for those who parked in an enclosed garage :D

Personally hate how they made the chevys look... the GMCs on the other hand are a bit better looking and i could see myself driving one.

I feel the opposite, I think the GMC front end is way too busy . The grille looks like it would be a PITA to clean up . To me the High Country grille and front end looks a lot smoother . I’m currently in a 2018 since Dec 2017 , I Love it and plan on trading it in on a 2020 in Dec . I will be looking at both the GMC and the Chevy though before making a final decision.

You can pre-order but that’s about it. Till you can actually order and they are being built come June/July, not much to see or gain info wise
