They said the inline 6 was a Dmax I guess it just not the 4.5 baby dmax. I wonder if those tool boxes are standard? Those big gaskets won't last long with heavy use. Still don't care about the front end.

I never noticed the offset steering wheel before. Which is odd since things like that normaly drive me nuts.

Power tailgate don't care for it.

Nice interior.

Yea figured they would go with the 4.5... oh well
Don’t care for the look at all and agree most of the stuff they highlighted is for a Luxury truck owner lol
My crews would have that tailgate ripped off in a week and those weather strips would be Gone lol:D

The power tailgate amuses me, but I wouldn't want it. Fun to watch, but looks annoying to use if you are in a hurry.

The interior does look nice, I'm going to have to look into that more.

The killer for me, as it has been for years, the trucks are just too fluffed up. The bed rails were high enough that most people in the video could only barley see over them, let alone lift something over the side. My truck is leveled on 35s and it has a lower bed. Ridiculous. Maybe one day someone will make a truck low enough I can use it for work without having to install a Tommy Lift first.

That's more a general complaint than anything about the new Chevy. Overall, I like it more than the competition.

I am really curious to learn about their new cylinder deactivation strategy.

That has me wondering too. I've never been impressed by the v8-v6 on our Tahoe. Made little to difference in mileage. 7 cylinder deactivation just sounds crazy. Unless it's durring coasting and stop lights. The 6.0L run rough on all 8 at idle how to you get them to run smooth on 1?

I agree 100%, my 15 was the most un-handy truck to lift anything into or over the side .

My last 1500 had an offset steering wheel, I didn't like it. Interested to hear more about the i6 for sure, but more interested in the new HD body.

Did you guys see the 2019/2020 4500+ chassis are changed? They look awesome

They did mention, albeit rather passively, that cylinder de-activation will be "user controlled".

Maybe hinting that you can turn it on/off through the DIC?

That offset steering wheel has bothered me so much since my first NBS Chevy in ‘99. The steering wheel bothers my neck/back more than a long day of work does.

Your LMM has an offset steering wheel as well, all the trucks do.

Not liking the lines on the new Silverado, it lacks a stand out look from other models. Sounds like it has all the same features as the newer trucks out there. I like the power lift gate. I despise the Chevrolet in the tailgate. Front end looks clean and beefy. Want to know the specs on towing and power though. Hope they don't keep the same look for the 2500/3500HD

I'm not even sure what they mean by the offset steering wheel on the old ones. My 2003 supposedly has one, but it never felt odd to me vs. the Ford's and Dodge's I drive.

It must be really subtle. I drive my truck 9-10 hours straight regularly and it never bothers me.

I think the switch on the dash was to disable the Auto Start-Stop, not the cylinder deactivation. Historically, you need a tune to disable the cylinder deactivation.

Go sit in your truck, don’t try to face the steering wheel, just sit in the center of the seat and face straight forward. The steering wheel will be off to one side.

I didn’t realize they are offset. There has been a few times when I thought I wasn’t centered in the seat.

Lol I never noticed the offset wheel until now...
Guess We all just have mad swagger and didn’t know it:rofl:
The truck stance height in general is ridiculous these days
All the truck manufacturers are making them taller and wider
