So did anyone see the pics of the new 2017 duramax engine? It's hard to tell if it's got twins in the valley or just one in the valley. Also looks like some sort of water to air secondary (or maybe it's prior to the inter cooler).

Any new news of specs Etc?

can't really afford another house payment, but the new style is tempting.. may have to jump in on this one pending what I can get for my truck as a trade..

Saw three in a row heading through Delaware Ohio. The first one had the hood covered up, but I could see the air intake. The second one was a 3500 with a flat bed with a test trailer hooked to it. Third was a 2500 with another trailer behind it. Seems there is still testing going on. That would leave me to believe there are still some bugs being worked out.

Still nobody's got anything yet?
Are they using he same 2,500 bar injectors denso's already using in other applications or are they rolling out the new 3,00 bar stuff?

Doesn't matter too much for me.... I officially defected and bought a new megacab with the cummins and couldn't be happier. I would have stayed gm but their crew cab is just too small in the back for my needs.

I'd be surprised if anyone took delivery before January, they are having issues. Hence why I just picked up a new 16. I'm not going to be a test subject for GM again, the quadrasteer Denali back in 04 was enough for me. My dealer couldn't believe he was still ordering 16, 2 weeks ago...

interesting , hoping for the best with this engine but think gm will do good work before making final decisions, unlike ford/internationals 6. point oh fug engine series . looks like they kept it close to the same as far as turbo location goes. They cant afford another major recall of major engine failures.

Maybe in 10 years when my lbz falls apart or is departed ill have one but for now ill dream another dream.

love the newest front ends on the half tons though.

I went to my dealer to grab some delco filters and I wanted to hear about the CP4 and so I bs'd with a tech and he told me the CP4 is the issue because the EPA wants diesels to run on fuel that doesn't exist.

You have a confused dealer, there is no more Bosch injection system. It is Denso now, gm completely did away with all bosch products on the new l5p...

So, what's the view on the new Denso system vs Bosch? Good move by GM? Better? Worse? Reliability? Etc.

Thanks

OP, that pic is showing the inlet on the airbox for the functional hood scoop.

Maybe it's just me, but other then the airbox it looks very similar to the LML under the hood.

Still a six six, still a 6-speed Allison 1000...just an emissions equipped EPA mess.
